Black Knight Rebuilt...Another $300 Progress Thread

I just went out to geta snap ring for that rear calp rebuild..also took my Cobra BB to i.d- it's M10x1.0 at both O'Reilly's and Home Depot on their bolt tester strip thingy; I guess the Mark is M10 also, but it's more coarse threaded
---
my Cobra PBRs are from a '94....return yours if you can't find the right bb....my .02

Some Cobra calipers have the same thread pitch as the Mark VIII. My 2003 10th anniversary calipers used the same bolt as the Mark VIII....

If your bolt is threading in and getting tight and then alternately loosening and tightening, you either have the wrong thread pitch bolt, or the threads in the hole are stripped.

If you end up tapping the threads in the holes, make sure to get ALL of the metal shavings out!

Time for a little picture taking.

Did ya loose a center cap?

Yes, she's all together now. I have all the centercaps on now. Oh, and by the way, the banjo bolt situation is a nightmare. For anyone else, be advised, all the parts sores state the banjo bolt is a M10X1.5. It is not. It's actually M10X1.0. The O'Reilly part number for the banjo bolt I used is: H9477-2.

lookng AWESOME...now I'm more motivated to move on my projects, are your Vog springs stock height? I've got these 1.5'' lowered Eibachs for my white car...tbd

The brakes are definately a big improvment to the single piston caliper for sure. Especially if your going to a bigger wheel. I definately need to get better rotors though. The ones I used when I got them off the wrecked Cobra barely had enough left to do a turn down. I need to buy another set. Where does everyone go to get the rotors redrilled? The machine shop I used before I can't use anymore. I was looking at discbrakesrus, and they are expensive it seems.

I just did my own. My first set I had the machine shop do. The replacements I just put on I used the old ones as a template. I used 3 bolts in the original mustang bolt holes to bolt them face to face and drilled it out with the drill press. Pretty easy, the hat is mild steel; you could probably use a regular drill.

G, you're getting the rotors redrilled b/c you still have factory 5x108 lug pattern hubs?

you should make a drive to ft. worth and paint my mark.

All your hard work paid off. Paint looks great Greg! That car looks so sinister with those black Saleens. Kudos to you for a job well done.

How much did it cost to get the repainted?

Car looks great
As for banjo bolts check the thread pitch before buying new not all pbr cobras/mach 1s are the same.

Lately I haven't been driving my car lately as I have been slowly putting her back together. This week I've been driving her constantly, and giving my truck a rest. When don't drive your Mark for a while, especially me, I forget what it was like to drive it daily. Here's my picture whoring for today.
