No, they do your housings better than 65 watt hot halogen bulbs. 35 watt HID's are the way to go. 5000K or 6000K

Deb, since this posting, I have went with digital slim ballasts and 6000K bulbs in the highs and lows. Works perfect and a lot less blue than the 10K bulbs being in the low beams.

This is what I would go with. If someone mentions anything about a 55 watt kit, it's a waste of money and the bulbs don't last as long. The 35 watt kit is more than bright enough but I'm also using mine in new housings. Xentec is another brand I have owned in a 94 that I had and it done good but when I tried it in the 95, it didn't work out very well. The ballasts had a problem and I even had two sets. I ended up getting back on ebay and bought some new digital slim ballasts and I haven't had a problem with anything since then. I have 6000K in my low beams and 10,000K in the high beams and my multi-function switch has been re-pinned for both high and low beams to be on at the same time. If you want good bright light, it would be best to go with a 5000K or 6000K
