I just put the K&N on my 03 LS. I have to say it's so far the best modification I have done to my car. It was pretty easy to install as well.

I installed EBC rotors with green stuff pads. they were very noisy for the first month or so (kind of a hissing sound while I was driving) but they quieted down after that.

I'm pretty easy on mine. No street racing but I usually travel 75 to 85 on highway and I do like taking on and off ramps fast.

Welcome, I have an 03 Ls. Bought it 2 years ago with 31,000 miles on it. It now has 62,000 miles and I have put $260.00 in repairs. It's been a great car and fun to drive. I would recommend an 03 or newer and go for the THX and nav while your at it.

Since you are on the subject of the Mclaren LS, does anyone know where the prototype is? I understand it had a 6 speed manual. If there is one thing I wish the LS had offered it would have been a manual option with the V8

I bought a custom fit NOAH cover for my LS. It fits perfectly. Bought it from autoanything.com it was about $200. and I am very happy with it.

I am getting ready to do the 60K service on my 03 LS. The maintenance guide recommends changing the automatic transmission fluid on vehicles equipped with AX4S, 4F50N, 4R100, 4F27E. Does anyone know which one, if any of these are the transmission in my LS? Or is there a way I can find out? Thanks

I would suggest 03 or newer with a V8. There were several upgrades to engine and suspension for 03. I have an 03 Premium Sport it handles and performs well and is a pleasure to drive. All cars break and cost money to repair. I am on a first name bassis with the owner of the BMW shop that fixes my wife 2000 323i regularly. It costs me $600 to $1200 every time something breaks.

I am thinking of doing something with the exhaust on my 03 LS V8. I would like a little deeper exhaust note. I was thinking maybe removing the resonators. Has anyone done this? If so did it improve the sound? Any other suggestions would be welcome.
