If the stock ends are swappable, I'll trade you my billet hood struts for the driveshaft. They go for $130 new. I've got an extra set that I just got....your car is fine with shaft it has. You KNOW you want my billet hood struts. ;)
 
RC what are billet hood struts? Do you have a pic of them? If Jamie does'nt trade you I might be interested I have a '93 drive shaft that I don't need and my hood will not stay up. I thought I would just get some 15 dollar struts for it but if you have something special I would like to see them!

and the other thing that you guys arent listening too is, fix the 93, fix the 93, you have the stuff to do it, I DONT CARE IF I HAVE THE STUFF TO DO IT, THE CAR IS A RUSTED OUT PILE OF :q:q:q:q, I DONT WANT TO FIX IT, PERIOD, its not a matter of doing it, getting the parts, i dont want the car fixed its not worth it, i part out marks in twice the cindition this thing is in, we dont want to fix it, its nothing but a rusty wiring problem nightmare. stop telling me to fix it cuz i have the parts or skills, the car is a piece of :q:q:q:q its not worth fixing it, no one is hearing what i am saying its beyond being worth fixing.

If Jamie doesn't want them then I'll trade you them for your 93 driveshaft. They are solid billet and originally came from my 03 Stang. I just tried them with the Mark and they fit.
 
yeah thats what i want derek, hood struts????????????????? WTF why would i trade you a driveshaft for hood struts. i have 38,000 hood struts in my garage, i dont need billet ones, the :q:q:q:qing hood is closed 98% of the cars life you touch hole. and i deffinetly dont want the ones you got, i like my factory ones i dont need my hood to come crashing down and taking a chunk of meat off my head or hands. sometimes i want to slap you!

You dumbass it's never come crashing down. I just said that because I didn't want you leaning on the hood since they aren't exactly cheap. Don't be hatin cause you have lame ass black hood struts! I think that bent rim of yours has f'd with your brain ;)
 
Yeah bro I think I'll pass they are'nt everyday stuff but I would rather just buy some lame ass black ones (LMAO) for 15 bucks. I just figured if you thought they were worth a drive shaft they had to be something special but not exactly worth a driveshaft to me bro.

derek wanted me to tell you that his hood never came crashing down on me, which it didnt, i was just giving him a hard time and i would never need billet hood struts personally, my factory ones lift the hood just fine thats all i was saying.
 
Ok since the subject came up, Lasers hood will dayum near fling up after you release the latch, he gave me some brand new hood struts, mine still falls down...
Granted he has a Gen2 and mine is a Gen1 and the 2 hoods greatly vary in weight..
Here's the question..
Is there a hood strut strong enough to fling my Gen1 hood up from the almost closed position, and, I've seen Mustangs loose the hood latch while driving and hood bashes the windshield..has this ever been a concern for Gen1s?

you need gen 1 struts, gen 2's use a different hood strut, your fiberglass hood is twice the weight of a gen 2 aluminum hood thats why i have 2 boxes in my garage labeled gen 1 and gen 2 hood struts. gen 2 struts dont like to lift the gen 1 hood.

Jamie, Whats the rate on a newish set of Gen1 hood shocks...I want some that look new, but functional is most important, I can always repaint if needed

if there's anyway you have an extra minute..I would like a vid of the speed of lift, I know that's askin a bit much.. I only ask because there's alot of minor things about my car that I want to work a certain way, or maybe I'm just really anal

are you serious dude????????????????????????????? take a video of the speed it lifts, i'm gonna take a video of the speed of my middle finger lifting up, i have tons of hood struts that look and work like brand new, i know because i am the only one in my shop who removes every single piece off these cars.
 
Will a properly functioning Gen1 hood lift like a properly functioning Second gen? I think that was the question. He likes how all I have to do is lift my hood a couple inches and it lifts itself up.

I would like to see how new ones function...I lift hoods all damn day..every car in my shop gets it's hood lifted, Lasers hood is the fastest hood I've ever seen...so..how fast should a Gen1 open..

You are the expert on this forum for parts..you should know how fast they operate until normal functioning...unlike me, so I asked you
