    DCCV? Wierd electrical noise

Well, got it replaced. Was pretty easy to do, just disconnected the quick couplers and yanked it out through the top. Didn't bother unhooking the upper rad hose. Bled the system and was up and running in an hour. No more noise outta my rear speaker and system works properly again!

    DCCV? Wierd electrical noise

That would make sense. I've had my battery die when I had the car sitting overnight sometimes and once charged up would be fine for months. Then it would die again. I've seemed to notice issues with the HVAC or DCCV for awhile now and this could have been the source of the draw (I hope).

    DCCV? Wierd electrical noise

Well, I think my DCCV has gone. Car is blowing full heat on my 2006 LS. Wierd thing is that at the same time, I've noticed that there is an electrical buzzing coming from my left rear speaker. I pulled the #1 fuse for the DCCV while the car is off and it sparks and the solenoid(s) click...

    tires

The tires you are talking about are 1cm wider also. It is better to have a narrower Winter tire, but if you think the deal is good, get them - they'll work just not be optimal.

    Replacing Power Steering Pump

I didn't bother changing my teflon seal out. I figured if it leaked it would not be that hard to change out after the fact. And it did not leak, so it worked for me.

    good winter tires??

I've had a set of X-ice as well and really liked them. Michelin makes great tires and this is no exception. The updated version is supposed to be even better than the first generation. The only problem I had with them is the wore too fast and were not as good on ice as the Nokians IMO. I've...

    good winter tires??

The power reference was only to my truck and not power needs to go through snow, I guess you missed that. I'm confident enough to drive my LS year round, I just like buying the best as our Winters can be pretty brutal and the tires you mentioned were only $250 cheaper up here. Not worth it IMO...

    good winter tires??

I've got a rusted out 91 Chevy 4x4 gutless wonder for my hunting and fishing but I'd hardly call it fun and any looks I get are laughs! Oh, for acceleration or chugging through deep snow I agree wholeheartedly. It is a truck, afterall and has clearance and a few more tires pulling. But if...

    good winter tires??

Mud tires suck in Winter. Plus, you have to drive that thing. Good $$ save.

    good winter tires??

Nokian Hakkapeliitta R Have them, love them. Screw price, I want every advantage I can get in the Winter. A couple extra hundred $$ to prevent a couple $$ accident is worth it to me.

    Bike rack...?

Put a hitch on your car and get a hitch-mounted bike rack. Hitch is very inconspicuous and when you need it, easy to mount.

    2006 Lincoln LS pinging

well, I hope if it is the coils that they cover them under that extended coil warranty on my 06 with 80k on it...

    2006 Lincoln LS pinging

Well, I've pretty much ruled out gas as it does it with different brands and at different locations as I have driven across province. Most easily noticed when going about 50kmph and stabbing the pedal. Yup, in Sherwood Park, AB

    2006 Lincoln LS pinging

Well that's crappy. I was hoping it was something like a partially clogged EGR or something else like that. All we can get where I live is 91 octane unless I go with ethanol-blended gas which I don't want to use. Thanks for the advice - I may have to get a tune.

    2006 Lincoln LS pinging

I've got an '06 LS V8 which has a small problem with pinging while driving steadily and then hitting the gas suddenly. It will ping briefly and then sound normal. I run premium 91 octane gas and always have and was wondering if anybody else has had this problem. I even tried changing brands...

Update, on ls i had to push, suspect!!!

Looked at the diagram and as I recall it is the fuel crossover tube that was the culprit on mine. They did not replace anything to do with the fuel pump or level devices. Not saying that is the problem here, just what happened to mine and makes sense if the transfer pump was not able to do it's...

Update, on ls i had to push, suspect!!!

I was getting the fuel computer data error when my tank was on the last quarter. Took in in under warranty and they diagnosed it as some kind of tube inside of the tank. Put a new one in and problem has not returned. I could check the part description if you need.

    LS Trailer Hitch Question

http://www.suspensionconnection.com/cgi-bin/suscon/CT12253.html I bought this hitch at my local hitch store for $130. Installed it myself was pretty easy. Got a plug in wiring kit which only involved hooking up a power lead to the battery in the trunk and a ground and an inline plug into...

    Replacing Power Steering Pump

Well, I got it done. That was not fun to say the least. Considering I started at 9am and have it all buttoned up and road tested, Im pretty happy with 4.5 hrs considering I thought it would take me all day!

    Replacing Power Steering Pump

I'm sure somebody has done this before. I did a quick search but haven't found anything other than a few pics. I've got a 2006 LS V8 and from what I can see I'll have to drop the A/C compressor to get the pump out. Any other tools I'll need or advice? Thanks!
