sorry everyone but i am cancelling the meet, unless you guys want to still get together be my guest but it wouldnt look good if you guys all go to the trail blazer meet that my buddy is throwing and intrude with another meet if i am not there. so technically i am cancelling it. my transmission is fried in my car and i cannot afford to fix it so with this on my mind the last thing i care about is a get together. most likely i am going to take the car off the road and park it with a car cover over it, i just cannot spend the money on the trans right now, i have rent and bills to worry about this couldnt have happened at a worse time so i just wanted to let everyone know there wont be a meet sorry, we can plan another one some other time.

Well, how much would it cost you to just get a trans and then your labor?

If you could make the drive over there, I found one cheaper. Price of gas would kinda make it not worth going after. I know the situation you're in because I'm in it too, besides the trans part. If I had it dude, I'd gladly call them up and have it shipped right to the shop for you but I'm stretching every dollar right now, for the next few weeks anyway. :(

yeah sure drive the other one, and then my wife cant take my daughter to school or pick her up either, that would work perfect. some of you guys still dont get it, i work a fulltime job, i do not work in my shop, i have a real job just like most people, everyone thinks i can do what i want when i want, it isnt close to that, fulltime job people, i have to get back and fourth to work, and my wife needs her car too, so i cant take her car thats why we each have a car. and thanks terry but there is no way on earth i would buy a tranny from any salvage yard, thats as good as derek's motor and sappers motor, no thank you. i would eat a razor blade before i would trust a salvage tranny. what i find so funny is when other people here have major problems people are so quick to help them fix the problem and i post this about my trans being shot and everyone is gonna tell me how easy it is to go get another trans and fix it. if it was so easy, and i was so loaded with money, you guys wouldnt have even known about my transmission going bad. people have this misconception that i have all kinds of money and all these parts laying around and i never have to worry about anything, lmao please lead me to this fantasy so i can see for myself!

I think people give that notion to you Jamie because you are mechanically competent, while other members here have a hard time changing a flat tire. I also know that some people are maybe trying to be encouragig and maybe down playing it a little to make it not seem so bad. My wife does it all the time, my little ray of sunshine, always trying to see the good in any situation. It drives me crazy sometimes, but sometimes it makes you feel a little less like the universe is out to get you. It does suck, I know this, trying to figure out what you are going to drive and pay for parts, but you have a gift of mechanical inclination, that in the end will save you money on this, if you r/r it yourself. IMO, a trans isn't that bad, a motor on the over hand, F that. Always remember, it could always be worse. I consider you my friend man and have respect for you, so I'm not trying to be a dick or anything, but most of the people here have good intentions and don't mean to sound like your life is easier than anyone else's or anything like that. In the end, you'll fix this somehow and you'll move on. I am always willing to give a hand, as long as you work on it on mon/Tuesday nights... Good luck man.

Jamie, if I had an extra trans sitting around I would send it to you. That's just something I don't happen to have right now. I do have a wrecked 98 with a good trans, but it's still in the car. That really sucks about yours, sorry to hear it.

They are just trying to help bro! They took the time to find a trans for you and in my eyes, thats a noble effort. As far as money issues, join the no money club! Times are tough for everyone today. I would have thought you would have had another spare trans with all the mark parts you have. Like you said in other posts, they are machines and they can break if they have 20k or 200k. Sh!t happens! Bills are priority so you gotta do what you gotta do.

If I had a '98 trans, I'd send it to you but all I have is a rebuilt '94 that no one will ever want to pay anything for. :)

I have bought many junkyard trans, never got a bad one yet. But the place I deal with will drive the car if it's drivable to make sure it's good.

The 94 would keep him from having to cover the car up and park it. Like you said though, if you paid to have it rebuilt, I know it wasn't cheap. I know you're not giving it away.

I have at least $2500 in my trans with the stall...so it is understandable he wants to do it right the first time...I wish I would have had a transbrake installed at the time of the rebuild...

thats just it, i dont want a bandaid, if it has to come out, i want to do the convertor now, the j-mod, new u-joints, i mean do it now and do it right, not just slap some turd in it to get by, so until i can get one in there that i am happy with, and do a stall at the same time i wont even look at the car, i'm too pissed off to even care. i do appreciate you guys looking for another trans, i found a trans already from rich and elliot in ft lauderdale, rich is bringing it to me saturday, its from a C.E with 69k on it, but i still am not gonna throw it in until i go through it and have the money for a stall, which i wont have anytime soon because i work for the man, and the man dont pay :q:q:q:q.

That sucks Jaime.Sure hope you can get it done soon so you can have your ride back.Especially since summer is almost "officially" here.

So Jamie, don't you have THREE black MK8's? Don't use your wife's car, use the other one! I know the feelign man but don't let this event go to waste! There are many of us that wanted to go this year! Keep us posted if you change your mind!

Oops,wasn't looking.Thought SVT's sig was Jaime's.
