What daily driver would you get?

I had a SHO for 5 years. Great car, but NO FUN to work on AT ALL. V6s and V8s. Mine was green with black interior 95 5 speed. Sold it to a local SHO enthusiast that has 5 now, one that is turbo'd, I got 2250 for that car. If you buy an LS I will punch you in the dick and start calling you one of "those guys." and we don't want that. You could get a pretty nice first gen on the cheap. And Gen1s are faster than Gen2s outta the box :D Now, I would recommend maybe a Fusion with the v6. Newish car, and they are quick. I dont know what a used one goes for these days, so it might be too high. Lets see, how about maybe a crown vic or something?

If you were seriously considering buying an SHO, figured I would share this vid...
My old car is at the 1:00 minute mark. And the pic on the movie right now is my car.

Another option would be a Town car. Would be slow as hell, but a comfy tank. I saw several decent ones for good prices in your area the last time I looked.

I second the Town Car. Been a while since I owned one, but I bought an 01 last weekend. Sure makes my 50 mile daily commute a lot better.

Well I'd advoid the LS unless you want to spend more time whinning about it's issues ... They are great cars when they don't have problems ... just read the LS forum....

GTO ... hmmm maybe ... if you like that kind of thing.

T-bird ... nice winter car..

But I'd just by another Mark VIII ... Why not ... you have spent enough time with them that you know what's up and what could go wrong. Much easier to work on than the LS ... And a hell of a lot cheaper. Good Gas Mileage ... and fun to drive...

But if you are just looking for a cheap reliable car to go from point a to point be I'd agree with Danny's choice ... The hyundai is a good car just to drive around.

But for me I'd just keep buying Mark VIIIs ... why not? I have my winter Mark and my Summer Mark.

My wife just bought a 98 Volvo S70 GLT 5 cyl turbo. It handles great, is very quick, and has top notch safety (has side impact airbags as standard). There's also a decent size aftermarket available for these cars. We paid $3500 for it with 119k on the odometer. It's Silver with a black leather interior.

If I had 10k to spend I would look for either a Mustang GT or a 6.0 GTO.

People whine about them so much because they dont search, everything that goes wrong is a relatively easy fix, there are write ups on damn near everything thats gone wrong with our cars.

Town Car and Mark VII are out due to low mileage. 05 GT would be killer but they are above $10000 and for that money the GTO is the better car. The more I look at the Continentals the more I like them. $5000 would get me a very nice one too.

Also checking out the SC300 and SC400 for the $5000 price range cars.

There was no debate on the issue for me....another Mark VIII all the way!

It'll have all the same great aspects of your other car that made you get your other car in the first place....
Think about it. There's not gonna be another car that will fit all those things, other than a Mark VIII

I'm with that comment and sticking to it. Gen 1 or 2

my daily driver is an 07 Chevy Impala LT (company car) it has 162,000 miles and it runs perfect...to me its one of the best vehicles out in the market right now.

lol, that SHO got smoked by the 05 GT..i still say a Base Gen2 would be good, you know the car, you know the probs, and you know US, people who can help with probs...stick with what ya know

crown victoria or gen 4 taurus (ohv)

both will last seemingly forever and get you where you need to

The CE is my daily, but we REALLY like the 06 impala SS we just got. great gas mileage, a ton of power, and being all black turns heads wherever it goes.

i say having 2 Marks would be best.. that way you could always rob Peter to pay Paul if the need ever presented itself

they can actually be found for relatively cheap nowadays... that one in particular is a 2004... so they are getting old butr still looking stout

I really love the dash layouts on them as well

although the M45's dash and interior is just pure sex IMO

if you are looking for comfort and an all around good daily driver with some pep and a decent all around feel look at some of the older infinities... they are a decent choice IMO

the GTO would be a good choice as well, they handle bumps with ease and are a very docile ride compared to the other muscle cars... they are also very, very comfortable... rivaling my LS IMO

I might also point out that the GTO is very easy to drive "at the limit"... other cars MAY handle better and such at their limit but it's going to take an excellent driver to do so is my point.... any SOB can get behind the GTO and make it hit the apex at the most it can go without breaking traction... or slide out the tail and recorrect and then just continue on, I found in my GTO that once sideways on the track when you go to over-correct the steering wheel finds a sweet spot that you can actually feel in your arms and as a result perfect sideways smoke shows can be had if you find that correction point... it feels as if the "drift" is on rails and the car is doing it itself... it's very awesome

but if "I" had to choose a DD'er... I'd probably get a 4 door G37x or a 335xi... (my next DD'er HAS to be AWD)

I like the G35 very much. Had a 350Z when they came out and really enjoyed the car. Good idea!
