I got my RH lower control arm that I ordered from RockAuto on sunday, yesterday. It was a moog part, but had TRW stamped on the arm itself and the bushings, so basically OEM. The arm was $66 to my door for a Thunderbird arm, vs $136 for a Mark VIII arm. Installed it today at work on my lunch break. We are so damn busy I had to do it on the ground outside my bay, because there were no available lifts.

This was sitting in my main bay... 6.4L Powerstroke that filled the crank case full of coolant.

There was cavitation from the water pump and it made a small hole where the screwdriver is right into an oil passage.

I drained 9.5 gallons of oil/coolant from the oil pan, the oil in the engine looks like a black milkshake. The engine is only supposed to hold about 3-4 gallons of oil.

Anywho, here is what the control arm looked like...

Just gotta wash it and align it after work and I'm good to go.

Uh oh, that may turn to be disasturous for Ford. :(

Thats the 6.4... it has already been replaced by the 6.7. The 6.4 is junk imo, I call it the Lincoln LS of Diesels... The 6.4 was only in 08,09, and 2010 trucks. The 6.7L tho, its an animal, and a lot more simplified. I think they will have it right this time.

TRW was the OEM for Ford, MOOG and TRW are all under the same parent company and share the same market channels, so your parts are coming from the same place. Even the Mark and Bird numbers.

so not to steal your thread dan, but i bought uca and lca from moog, and they are all stamped trw, but i paid quite a bit more for the moog parts than if i were to buy trw, so what is the difference between the two?

oh, a bent control arm, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

i'll take the credit for that, i called it, who's the man say it???

Hey NoLimit, I drove home last night while it was Dark as F***. My wife was behind me and kept shutting off her headlights, she said mine were bright enough for the both of us. It looked like a low flying commercial airliner was flying right above my car with all the F'ing light.

I sure do like to use the F word a lot... I wonder if I could go a whole day without using it.

F*** man try it for a day, you might F***ing be able to make it a day with out saying F***. Then again you might F***ing fail and say F***, then you F***ed that idea all up. Just F***ing try it!
