Project car a.d.d.
It's going to be a hard one...
On one hand, I want to fix my very first Mark Viii... the car that I lucked into finding... In the color I wanted with the interior I wanted right off the bat, and for $1500.. That depends on the money I get from the insurance co.
If they pretty much tell me to get lost and that my car is only worth X amount even with the work and money I put into it then I have no choice but to cut my losses, do a buy back and strip it. If I get a half decent enough check after buyback then I will roll it right into the body shop. New headlights, Double R hood, new grille, and fresh paint, and be happy...
Then there is the other hand...
I found a '97 black on black LSC with black trim for $1200, pretty rough, needs some love, has a rust hole in front of the drivers rear wheel on the rocke, missing stuff under the hood, missing some minor stuff in the interior, flat tire, been sitting in the same spot for a year. Front bags deflated and wont come up and the dealership that it is at pulled all the wiring under the dash out and thought they could rig up a switch to kick the compressor on, doesnt look like they tapped into any wires, but could be a disaster in disguise... but the car is mostly all there, and not a half bad looking car for the money.
Then right up the street is it's identical twin... black on black '97 LSC with black trim and with only 70K on the clock... but the dealership wants $69xx for it... Should I commit to buying a Mark Viii from a dealership? Is it even worth it when it will get totalled out if I hit anything? Or should I try to get a declared value on the vehicle?
I don't know what to do... I saw that low mile '97 and fell in love with it. it is SUPER clean.
There is also a white '96 LCS (but no HID's ??) with tan interior on craigslist.. for like 2500...
I'm soo confused!!!!
