BAD!!!

Then we can see the pics of the ball joint failure and his car wrecked in a ditch...

in my maquis it was making alittle noise when it got cold out. had no play so i bought the tool, filled it up and it saved me some dough.

if he's got the money then go for it replace all the stuff. imho check for play, if its good fill the bushings up w/ grease and see what happen's

Just got her back from teh body shop and she looks great! They did an excellent job matching the paint and the guy said it should be near perfect after I clay the car. He used a polishing compound and some expensive wax on the area where he sprayed up to and you cant see any difference at all. He even rubbed a small spot by the door where he stopped his color to show that after I clay and de-swirl the rest of the car it will be right. :wrench

Although from the drivers side I cant tell and even the one picture where the lower neon light trim looks WAY diferent does not look different at all in person but does ned a serious cleaning. They even repainted the drivers tail lights and installed it for me. :D

I saw the dent before, and it came out very well..especially since it was in a hard to fix(multiple curves) area

looks good
When are you coming back over?

I think I will come back down after the front end stuff is all replaced so in a few weeks. I just remembered my new tires are in so I think I will go over to the tire shop now and get that swapped out. :D

Car is looking good. When you get finished you might have to enter it in some shows.

I really want to! That was another reason for getting the ASHAM8 so I could slam it at a show.

The only thing that I just dont know how to fix is the under good area. On the strut towers the paint is worn through like they were cleaned with paint thinner or something. I am wondering what it would take to have them painted if I removed all the pannels and taped up all the stickers myself. Really makes it look dingy when I open the hood. :(

:wrench

I had the rear wheels moved to the front and new tires slapped on and put the old front ones out back.
Big difference! The now rear wheels required almost 7 (couldnt see if it was OZ or GR) weights on them and the fronts only took .75 on each side. Car is so much smoother and its great to have that steering vibe/wobble gone at all speeds. 55 used to suck but now its nice and smooth! :D

After a few hundred miles I can say the car drives so much better now its a huge difeerence. New tires and the better wheels up front made her smooth as silk. I also tweaked the trans shift points some more and its much nicer now too.

Now I have to order some fresh door seals so it stops leaking inside. Now I guess I can get the gears installed. Gonna make an appointment for week after next to have them done. :wrench

Woot woot! Decided on Monday I am dropping her off for the gears. They said it would be done teh same day too.

Huh? Car hasnt even been washed since it was painted. I am gonna do the detail myself if the weather is clear on Sunday and you can be sure the bumper and passenger quarter wont see the clay bar or wax.

Oh, no. On the passenger door AFTER the blend he hit it with a cleaner and then wax to show the color is the same just my OEM paint was dingy but after I clay it then the match will be much better.

So for todays progress I got my gear oil and made an appointment for Monday to have the gears and trac lok installed. :D

I also fixed the wires the body shop broke so that my parking lights work again. Now I just need to have them fix their other mistakes.

Alright another small update. I am getting ready for one of my full details and they usually kill me so I decided to split it up since I have no plans to go drive it tonight. So I gave her a very thorough wash and engine compartment detail. Took allot of effort to get the white white again in the engine bay. It was really dingy and I had to use a bunch of polishing compound and wax. Plus polished the fuel rails and scrubbed the spots off the plenum. Got the trunk detailed and the jams waxed. I also busted ass on my wheels and polished them up.
My chrome around the windows was really hazy and scratched. I guess I am not using the right stuff cause I got the haze gone but couldn't do as well as Brandon did on Stacks car. Still has fine scratches... cant really see them with your eye but the camera picks them up bad.

So here is where I am at, almost the half way point. Should be nice and clean when I'm done. :)

So tomorrow is clay bar 95% of the car (not touching bumper or fresh dent fix) then hit it with a Lake Country orange pad using my Porter Cable and some Maguires Professional swirl remover/cut. Then I will hit it with my foam pad on the PC with some Maguires Professional Glaze to add some depth. After that I will use the black foam finishing pad with some Maguires NXG wax then a microfiber bonnet to buff it out.
Then gonna use my yellow foam pad and the Maguires plastic polish and clean all the lights. Lastly I will use the Mothers Back To Black for all the little black parts. Should take most of the day and then I will take her out to get some nice pics. I had a PM from someone for some high res wide screen shots of the car for wallpaper but now cant remember who. :(

Heres tomorrows tools:

I hope so. The paint is so ruff right now. Its like touching sand paper. And the side moldings are very dingy so I may have to hit them with some polishing compound too. :(
