LaserSVT 98 White Pearlescent Progress Thread

Ugh, gonna have to drive around for the next few days with blue tape on my rear window and am not supposed to wash the car. I also cant roll the windows down since they were just tinted and the guy said keep the moon roof closed so it does not blow the rear window out. No smoking for me in the car. :(

I like the tint though. :D

I also cut off the bumper upper screw mount as the tires were rubbing there too. I figured I could experiment with this bumper since I will be putting on a new one anyway. I works though so I will do a little smoother cut on the new bumper before I bring it in for paint.
After that I sensor lowered the car 1" and then hit my bumpy ass road at some sufficient speeds and had ZERO rubbing. :wrench Thats just what I wanted, lower and no rub. I am a very happy mug. :)

Nice, please post pics of the bumper where you cut it. I'm so sick of hitting that damn thing!

On Feb 1st it goes in to have that dent removed and the rear bumper painted and swaped out. There is also one ding on the drivers door that will be removed. I am working my fastest to get her up to snuff.

Just loaded in the new upgraded hard drive into the Pioneer and man what a difference! Maps are way better and it now knows my streets name. Another nice bonus is the voice command can now understand me. :D

As soon as I get it back I will check that out with the head liner. Thanks. And yeah I was planning on bringing the glass back home with me. He said hes just gonna cut the seal off on that one to insure the car does not get dammaged. :D
BTW, I am not getting any bites on the engine and trans. I wanted to sell them before you took the shell and whats left of the interior. Maybe I am asking too much at $350 for the two. :(

You're probably already aware of this, but the mustang guys would like that block if the gen 2's recieved the teksid. If you do dump it just for the block I would prob throw a few dollars towards your COP's.

You may be able to J-mod that trans and dump it easier.
Maybe on www.tccoa.com too in case you hadn't thought of that.

The car's looking nice man.

Oh and before you throw those lugs away I have another place to check for the missing one, I forgot I drove the car to the garage with only 4 lugs on the wheels, so when I took them off the car I probably left one at the other shop, and if I did it should still be there.

Thanks. The parts are listed on three of thoes sites too. Pretty sure the engine is sold and the guy is gonna come this weekend, waiting on a return email now. The trans does have the J-mod. Wasnt sure untill emailing the last owner cause I forgot what he did to it.

And the lugs are still on the car. Just now each wheel has a locking nut as well so I didnt need all 20 Gorilla nuts. :)

Well its nice to have a better looking seal now! :D Its not perfect as it does have one ripple in it :( but its a bajillonty times better then what was there.
Also the UPS guy came to visit me and dropped off my new rear rotors and ceramic pads. :wrench So I guess I can do all the brakes at once this weekend. ..... damn....

Man I'm excited for you. Thinking about all the time you're unloading into this car, should make it so much more enjoyable for you to have and appreciate that it's so nice. Then again, you might get a fender ding in a month and part it out I suppose!! Lol

And todays mod should be good for 30-35 rwhp. Thats cause I decided to install the sticker too. Would have only gotten 10 hp had I gone without it. :D

I also threw in some Silverstars for the front signals since one was burned.

From several places. I built it myself pretty much. Its about $600 all together.

Hell, I thought they were the ones you are sending me. :D :D :D

I will be pulling yours tomorrow. I thought I was going to be installing mine but the damn banjo bolts are still not here  so I am SOL.
GMAN will even be here watching me do it. Your rear rotors and pads are identical to the ones in the picture though. Same kit from the same place. Now the fronts are a little different :p but at least its all under a year old including the calipers. :)

So here is a dissapointment:
IMGP0588.jpg

You see the problem is there were supposed to be some fine thread banjo bolts in the box with the strut. There were not and that means I cant install my Cobra brakes yet. :(

So today all I did was install the new center cluster. The old one was pealing but the flash kinda washed it all out. The new one is not perfect but its allot better then the original.

And the new one:

Today I just swapped the front air strut and tried to do the DPFE but gave up.

Shame that these little tiny cracks cost $400 :(
IMGP0615.jpg

But the swap was easy after I figured out I had to remove the LCA

Also for those wondering, the Gen1 and Gen2 DPFE are different. Thats a first gen on the right

hope you marked the cam bolt location on the lower control arm. You didn't need to remove that though. The strut will come out with the suspension intact. You just need to compress it.

Didnt need to mark it, I used the marks it already had.
And how do I compress the strut to get it out?
that IS the trick you have to compress the strut

Hey Bill, What's the part number to the Accel Kool Blue air filter?

You got two choices. Go to Autozone or O'Reilley's and check out their spring compressor. Or take the strut to a shop, and tip the mechanic, and he can take it off for you. That's what I did to get the springs on my struts. ;) Thanks for the link. :D

wait if'n yer talking bout some JY Tbird parts, I have no idear how to geddem offdere without lighten the torch.
