1995 Indigo Lights/Black LSC Progress

Spent the day out in the shop working on the Mark.

Evap lines are painted and re-installed, Subframe is painted, Delrin bushings installed (thanks DLF), and the main assy, is back in the car.

The pictures seem to show more green than is actually there. It's a cast iron looking paint. I did'nt want black or something common, so this is what I went with.

While all this is apart, the 28 Spline 4:10 pumpkin is going away, only to be replaced with a 3.55, 31 Spline pumpkin and Halfshafts out of a Cobra.

Pics,

Fuel Tank is back up and in. All rear bushings removed and control arms and knuckles ready for bead blasting and clearcoating. After that, I'll get the remainder of the Delrin bushings from Doug and press em' in.

one thing at a time I suppose.

I wish I had the time and the funds to do this to my mark.

Keep up the good work, and keep us updated!

Great work Mike.
Did you spray or brush the chassis coat on the underside? Are you going black in the engine bay also?

I'll get the remainder of the Delrin bushings from Doug and press em' in.

I'll need the width of both upper knuckles as shown, preferably in mm, in order to finalize the bushing kit. Ford wasn't consistent in manufacturing them.

Be sure to measure both, as they'll likely be different. ;)

Correct Terry. But, its currently a 31 spline 4.10 unit. 3.55s wont go in till the blower does.

BTW...ill sell ya my 28 spliner if you want it. I have a 93 DS as well.

Does anyone know if the OEM engine compartment and underbody are tri-coat or just the base color?

i would say that they just base coated the engine compartmentsof the marks that mike and i have worked i don't notice the shine of a clear coat on any of them. and a differance in the color . just an old farts opion.jd

Great job Mike. There's nothing like a long project to keep you busy. My black Mark is done pretty much, just waiting to have the interior done. I am thinking of doing a Gen 1 project of my own.

Clutch pedal is in place, wiring hole is relocated, and the plate is ready to be welded to the firewall. Mind you, none of this will be visible through the THICK sound deadening paste ill be applying after welding and grinding.

One less thing on the list...
