1995 Indigo Lights/Black LSC Progress

Getting stuff sourced and purchased for my new drivetrain combo. These came off of an 01 Conti that was sitting in a UPAP in Denver. I know they are'nt the high flow units that the 03-04 modulars got, but they will more than support the Eaton at 10-11 psi.

Not bad for around 80 bucks out the door.

I'm going to pull them apart and press new guides and seals in, and install new OEM springs.

That is awesome, if they were cheaper now and allowed the overall conversion to be less expensive, it'll be easier to justify the cost of 03/04 heads later on.

Nah, I'll never take this car above the 400 horse level.

This is just going to be a comfortable highway car.

I'm still looking at other cars for big horsepower levels.

How much HP do you think the Conti heads are good till with a blower setup?

The "tumble port" head only flows like 10 cfm less than the C-head, nowhere near enough to justify the 500-1000 dollar price difference in them IMHO. Also the earlier heads dont seem as bad about the valve guide/head tick that all of the 03-04 heads are plagued with. They do require some modification to work with the Eaton lower manifold though.

Working on stripping the firewall for dynamat. I'll be doing everything including dropping the headliner and putting it on the roof.

Engine cradle, Engine, and Transmission will be dropped out from underneath later this week as soon as I can get the car pushed on to the hoist.

Dont mean to intrude on the MKVIII side but this thread has interested me. Pektel on the LS side posted this site http://www.secondskinaudio.com/ earlier today. Seams to be a bit cheaper than dynamat and you could always use the paste to get places the mat wont reach.

I really like the idea of the Luxury Liner Pro

Cheers and keep up the good work!

Got the shop cleaned up after some customers cars were pushed through, and man-handled the VIII on to the hoist. (no brakes, no steering wheel, and no power) Got it torn down for the most part to drop the drivetrain out from the bottom.

Still need to drop:

Exahust
Driveshaft
steering column.

Don't mind my Lab, she enjoys laying under the car when it's in the air and watch us work.

Jealous as hell Mike.
Not over the Gen 1, its just another mike build thread ;)

Your shop is awesome, well thought out, benches on wheels.
Clean, makes a fun place to play.
How do you like those snap together tiles?
~thumps up~

Thanks Kirk!

The tiles.....work. I'd rather have a solid mat, but these will do for now.

Got the Engine/Trans combo out, along with the Fuel tank.

Tomorrow, Fuel and Evap lines, rear subframe, and bumper covers come off. I may even start stripping the firewall as well.

Thanks Danny,

We bought it in California off of an old man's estate after he died.

As for the clean comment, it's getting better. I got the Subframe out and ready to rip apart for DLF's bushings. Undercar sheetmetal is prepped, and I've started to paint it bit by bit.

I've never liked the look of the dirty shields and what-not on the underside of this car, so they got pulled and painted as well. Fuel and EVAP lines are getting cleaned and painted as well.

It's getting there, slowly.

spending time in the garage is cheaper than hanging out at a bar and not as many hangovers. but some times you need somebody to bitch at instead of your self. does this fall into the frame off restition class? O well been there dunn that. a lot easier than the orange pumpkin/jermie rose car. JD

My car doesn't f#©× on the first date.

Buy it a nice seafood dinner first. A nice glass of wine couldnt hurt either.
