subs and amp

called my local boston dealer and they dont have any on display.... only in boxs'.... 7 hundo for the sub  and 850 with the box   Well then again thats where online shoppin comes in handy lol

looking into the pdx series, my question of "strapping amps" comes about. I noticed that they have pre-outs and inputs... im assuming that for instance 1 amp (pdx 1000.1) would be hooked up and then say the 150x4 would have the pre out from the 1000 ran to the input of the 4 channel to run compenents?

No.

Use your aftermarkets decks outputs to feed them. Fronts RCA and Rears to the four channel and your non-fading outs to the sub.

Also, if you try and run that sub with a Power Acoustic amp I will fly up there and kick you in teh nuts! :p

Well maybe ill "say" i got the power acoustics amp... then you come up here and check out the car :D

i still want to get it, as a side note the price is up another hundo. I was just tinkerin with the thought of 2 G5s since laser recommended them.

Out of the two boxes you have listed, I would go with the 2nd one. I still think with what you mainly listen to, sealed would be the way to go for you. That other box is nice and all but the price is too high but..... your 12's would be protected on each side.

Well a trio of G5 10's would prolly out pound the oval sub by a little bit but would need more power and weigh twice as much.

I cant wait to sell my Xtant and get a JL amp so I can really drive my G5. I only can send it 300 watts and if I doubled that then it would really pound! :D

I like the idea of 3 G5's and I know they would out pound that one oval sub. Ok slick, there you have it, you said it in the very beginning of this thread that it was exactly what you were looking for.

Laser, you need one more G5 with the JL amp. Put the groceries in the back seat lol. No cargo nets allowed with trunk systems either.

Seems someone was gonna send me one but I forgot who. :(

Oh yeah, I meant to tell you that I did make it out back and uncovered the rear of the car and checked. It had the knobs but no net was in there. I'll ask my dad if he pulled one out of it because I really thought I saw one in there. I've been in my own little world lately getting my exterior looking good for the past week. My son has had to come to the garage to visit with me lol. He don't care though. I have a 7 year old that can spot a Mark VIII a mile away and tell you if it's a Gen 1 or 2 and he can name the rims and he knows the difference in LSC and base too.

okay back to amps.... im still figurin the best route to go.... it caught my eye before but now has me kinda stumped..... the details of the t1500-1bd
RMS Output @ 4 ohm: 500W x 4
RMS Output @ 2 ohm: 1000W x 4
RMS Output @ 1 ohm: 1500W x 4

Soooo what does that mean for the spg?will it be a different rms rating? That is apparently xxxwrms per 4 dvc subs... maybe im thinking to hard..lol

Also no dicussion ever came about with this http://techronics.com/caraudio_8292...hannel-Car-Amplifier.html?aff=45847&aff=45847 or http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_22282_Alpine_MRP-M2000.aspx

Or if i go with Alpine stick with the PDX?

I can already say im not gonna wind up goin with JL unless i find a SLAMMIN deal. So im still between Alpine, RF and prolly not but lastly boston (gt-28)

I would go with the RF 1500 and 3 10" G5's and that's my final thought. TheAlpine MRP-M2000 may be ok but I do know the RF 1500 and or JL 1000/1 seriously put the power out. The 3 10's are going to hit harder than the Boston Acoustics SPG555PS Ported enclosure with one SPG555 subwoofer if the right box is built. JMO! While you're at it, try to find a 4, 5 or 6 channel amp of the same make for the inside speakers and not an amp with sub output. 6 channels of full frequency with high pass and low pass filters. Run your 0 AWG or 2 AWG to a distribution block http://cgi.ebay.com/ROCKFORD-FOSGAT...emQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item45ef1e2bda

and a fused block and only have 2 amps in the trunk to take care of everything, including your tweeters you have mounted. I just bought this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320327939373 last week but now I have to get the wire and I'm going with RF 2 AWG because I'm not getting into enough power for 0 AWG and never will. I'm going 2 in and RF 4 out to each amp.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170377350860&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
and connectors need to be bought also. I'm eliminating the wires I have showing, which aren't many but I know I can do better than that. I also bought 20 ft. of http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140345275776&viewitem= to help things look even better. I have 3 new JL 10's on the way and should be here today, if UPS runs today. My luck, it being a holiday will stop them but it's ok, I can wait another day. I'm about to make a drastic change in my trunk but nothing that I can't put back if I'm not happy with it. I think I'm going to be happy with it and will picture it when it's completed. I don't have everything needed yet so I'm unable to knock it out right now.

I actually heard one of these in a 350Z and it made mine sound sick but he also has it all inside one space and not in a trunk and he has a lot more power than me. I can't say anything bad about the MTX because I have heard a lot of them and they all sounded good. The other boxes you have links for are all ported chambers where the MTX enclosure is sorta like mine with all open space inside and only one long slot port. The only way I would want individual chambered enclosures is if the box were to be sealed. If you put that in the trunk and some good power to it, you'll know it's back there, that's for sure.

I would get the box with the aero ports pointing up. That will give you the best impact and help to keep the bass tighter in the car. The box is a hair on the small side but its easy to correct. Just get some fibre fill and cover the inside walls and back. Dont put it on the top or bottom as it will mess the port tuning up.

Dont get the MTX box unless you like sloppy bass. If all you are gonna listen to is hippity hoppity music then they will work fine. :D

slick is like a kid in a candy store, he just can't make his mind up. I went with the MTX box because it came with subs lol. :D But it does pound pretty hard in a 350Z. 3 G5's with the ports facing up and some insulation removed. Hows that?

Well if he would just listen to us and buy his crap then 3 10" G5 subs in that box being powered off the 1500w Rockford Power series amp would be just insaine! It will show mant rattles on the car you never knew existed. I would say he will be able to hit 148-151 db in his car. 156 if his seals are all good and the trunk gets Dynamated.
