what tire gives the softest ride for our cars

" Not sure what was on the 95 when I bought it from Jamie but damn, they made the car feel like a meat wagon "

Thats weird. I have S-Drives now and they are by far the best tire I evr had...... except in freezing temps.

They are quiet, wear well, excellent grip, excellent in the rain and ride nice even with a 40 series tire.

Smaller diameter wheels like a 15" tire with higher profile tires such as a 205/75/15 would give a much softer ride but I don't know where you would buy a wheel in that size for our cars.

Yours being 18's could be the difference and when I bought that car, the tires weren't anywhere like new. Not bald but not exactly full of life. I know I could break the tires loose much much easier from a dead stop then than I can now. Could have been too much tire pressure, idk because I never checked them. I just put the BF's on there ASAP. I had 3 good ones with 9K, not 19K on them. I posted 19K because that's what I put on the 94 the whole time I owned it for 5 years. BF Goodrich tires didn't go on till 08 and a new set just like them went on the 93 that my dad wrecked. I took one off that car and put it with my 3 good ones and they all 4 still look like new, going on 3 years now.

As for the rain..... I drove home all the way from Florida in the rain. I hydroplaned a few times but I did travel a lot of hwy coming home.

Very little to zero hydroplane with the BF's. They cut right through the water.

Yoko's Quietness, yes, they were a very quiet tire and smooth riding but only on the smooth hwy. City driving sucked. They felt every crack and bump in the road. Like I said, they were not like new or anything but also not bald but they were so good, I put them on the burnt 94 and let the scrap guys drag it off with them on there. 16" low profile tire just wasn't working for me.

You could be right but such a skinny tire on a Mark would look awful. I don't know if I could handle a 15" wheel either. I like a bigger wheel and would rather have 18's instead of 16's but I'm keeping it stock.

I just got the same tires in a 235 size and i like them alot.

cost much less than the michellin pilots that came with my car and i likethe raised sidewill. so far wear is good and they still look great with about 2500 miles of wear on them.

We need to hang out sometime. I was just in DFW last week during that wonderfull weather. Ill tell ya, my S-Drives didnt like that ICE one bit!
Doing 5 MPH driving under the overpasses and every time my rear would hit a patch the cars ass would slowly slide in to the lane that was lower then mine. :(

Yeah well they are summer performance tires.

I was surprised..i was climbing a hill and i took traction control off and actually made it all the way up. About halfway up a chrysler 300 had gotten stuck and slammed into the curb. i would have stopped to help him out but i was about to risk sliding back down...the incline was too steep.

Im down for a lincoln meet...if we could get some marks and LS's together it would be a cool photoshoot.
