Turned to the dark side. Sappers 98 Black on Black LSC

i got some clock springs too bill if 98 cant find one. i can also email you directions on the blend door to have it done it about an hour, if you are nice to me, i'd rather see you figure it out yourself though and get pissed, because i dont feel you are worthy of my blend door secrets!

Your clock spring repair should be easy, unless you had an idiot work on the car like mine did. When they did the over travel prevention cable recall the mechanic used red loctite on the splines of the column, so it took me forever to finally get the damn wheel off.

When i was trying to do my mfs the wheel wouldnt come off either...It was on so bad that it stripped the holes for the puller..

^ you cant believe how many times i have pulled the bolts out of the steering wheel on my puller. when i remove 1st gen steering wheels, i leave the center bolt in and just pull, it pops right off, a second gen wheel will make you drop both testicles if you try and pull it off the same way. second gen steering wheels suck to remove! my puller has pulled plenty, but its usually the threads and not the steering wheel that it pulls!

Gives Sapper a reason to buy anothe Matco tool.

Gonna order a new blend door actuator from Max this week I guess and hopefully get a clock spring from teh Jaminator. :D

Car will come along very well I believe. :)

If you feel real generous feel free to pm me some blend door tips cause my 98 lsc is gonna need it lol cause I'd like to be done it in about an Hr

lol hey man, no one ever told me how to do anything to these cars, i had to learn like everyone else. all you need is a little common sense its pretty damn easy to change it its a matter of a few nuts and screws and you are there, i dont know why so many people are so afraid to dig in.

For the steering wheel.....

Remove the center bolt. Put the steering wheel puller on and get it tight, then hit the center post of the puller with a hammer. Tighten up the puller again and hit it with the hammer again. Repeat that until the steering wheel's off and you won't strip out the threads or give yourself a hernia...

I'm not afraid to dig into anything but it's always nice to know a few tricks I mean it's a car forum most of us are here to either learn or share information but it's all good I'll get it fixed

Sorry for the hijack

I mostly follow the tech article and can do it less than 2 hours. Last time, I did the heater core at the same time and was done in less than 4 hours. As long as you familiarize yourself with the location of all the bolts/screws beforehand, you can do it very quickly. Just be careful with the edges on that woodgrain bezel in the center console....

I was going to say the same damn thing until I read your post. Only exception I do is put a rachet wrench on the head of center pulley pin and keep tension on center pin and when I hit the head of it with hammer, I will feel the wrench move, and then a couple of strikes and it is off.

Fuggin Sapper. The car needed two new 255/50/16 tires and the only ones that dont need to be ordered from the internet are the same BFG Sports he has on the back (which are newish) so it works out well. Discount tire says 2 days to get it in and I tell Sapper. He Texts me to say the car is at Discount right now getting the tires which confuses me since none in the state had the tire in stock.
He texts me latter to say there is something wrong with the car. When he hits the gas it has no power and there is something wrong with the traction controll cause the light is on.
Turns out Discount tire put on 225/50/16's and of course that is freaking out the TC. Dumb ass tire place. At least he has a free pair of tires for a couple days to beat up on.

As the former owner of this car...

Lord Vader (Darth Vader) wishes Sapperfire the best with his former TIE vehicle. Lord Vader just opened a new outpost (business) at his local Starbase ( http://www.dallasairpark.com ) or he NEVER would have sold this TIE vehicle. It was a fourth TIE vehicle and he just could not justify it while his outpost needed capital. Darth is old school so when he needs credits he sells something...He refuses to borrow. Once his outpost takes off, and Sapper has totally fixed his old TIE vehicle, Darth will come in with his Stormtroopers and give Sapperfire an offer he can't refuse...The Emperor will accept no less...

Jeremy...I am your father!

Yeah so tire dude had a bad Monday, lol
I was thinking the fuel pump just wet the bed, it would only figure because that's what happened right after I got the blue one. Didn't notice the tc light until I sat up some, figured if that was on, and I commanded it off what would happen, car screams off the line...so I check the tires and sure enough. Getting a set of Falken instead of the bfgs
The BFGs in my size are on back order for a while or so the store says.

Considering the possibility of going back to air is a stretch unless I get rear bags and my compressor works. Wife hates the lowrider blue, but I love the ride of the 98 other than it could use better shocks and maybe be dropped 1" which i can just cut springs myself, I almost don't like the lowrider feel anymore. Now would be a good time to hand me a set of keys to a decent suv (V8) and drive off with my blue mark lol

It's got a few little dents but nothing major, the motor is super quiet, trans is nicely firm. Overall it's a wonderful car. As all "used" vehicles it needs tlc here and there but I'm stoked about it. I got it for $3400 and immediately spent $40 on brake pads and $302 on 2 tires. Better than a sharp stick in the eye ;-)

I'll get some pics up tomorrow since I'm off, I'll probably be making it less of a fish bowl tomorrow too

I've got the get it inspected SOON as the tags went out in 09, so I'll be getting a steering wheel puller this week, Matco might as well just park at my shop...lol

Other little things I'm going to fix soon are the cupholder (driver side arm doesn't spring out) and the ashtray lid left pivot is broken, and the driver door tweeter screen is loose

Ive got tons of ideas for this car, sorry twinbo, your an LS/Caddy guy now =)
