The gnome that knows.

no way, that to me totally wrecks the look of the car, having the top of the motor sticking out, unless its a muscle car from the 60's or 70's, not a mark VIII or marauder, that looks like dog:q:q:q:q

Bill and creativity are two things that have not met and things not end up looking like a battlefield

I just had to put this somewhere

This time you may have been jinxed Laser

Still in the middle of the install. The Doctor decided removing the hood and cowl was the way to go so that is what we did. Made thiungs much easier to drop the blower in place.

IMGP1420.jpg

You can see a huge difference in the space available wih he cowl off. Also showing where the IMRC box is since I see i asked so often. We removed it since I now have deletes.
IMGP1426.jpg

IMGP1438.jpg

So next we took the blower back off and then gooped up the plenum.
IMGP1427.jpg

Of course that led to the next problem.
IMGP1429.jpg

Somehow he managed to get it in there.
IMGP1431.jpg

So this is where we took a break to make the 6th parts store run and locate some fittings as well as a 120" belt.
IMGP1439.jpg

What a day! Jeff has absolutely worked his pointy hat off! Lots of snags along the way but all dealt with very well. His attention to detail is amazing! He worked very hard to make it look OEM and hide or remove all hat wasn't needed. My hats off o him!

So after deciding that the air injection pipes had to go I watched him go in there with a sawsall, torch and finally a welder! It was nuts but really looks great.

Then he cleaned up the crossover tube and put in new o-rings.
IMGP1445.jpg

Go it all together and did some other minor touches to really give it an OEM appearance.

IMGP1450.jpg

And here he is admiring his handy work. :D
IMGP1449.jpg

This is where we called it quits. Still have to trim the hood some and do some wires but its pretty much done. Did a through fuel leak test and was perfect on the first try.

IMGP1452.jpg

So you about ready to run for Pinks?
LoL looks nice buddy

Lookin spectacular.... if my 2 cents may be injected, i think you outta move the emblem
from the top of the blower to next to the snout.... then maybe paint an emblem on the top....

Emblem is not moving.
Just had the owner of Late Model Restoration text SVO that my car is bad ass. :D

So onward and upward. We are very close to initial start up of her. :) Had to extend some wires for all the relocated stuff. This first one is for he IAC.

IMGP1459.jpg

IMGP1460.jpg

And doing that cleaned up the drivers side of the engine very well.

Aside from the throttle cable its done on the drivers side.

IMGP1462.jpg

Then had to shorten the MAF wire.

IMGP1463.jpg

IMGP1466.jpg

SVO also extended the IAT and TPS wires in the same fasion. After that he covered them factory style and hid them away.

IMGP1469.jpg

bill where did you aquire that blower to fit your stock heads? is it from a 96-98 cobra? i must have missed the info on it somewhere.

RC, do you clash with SVO because there is no claw hammer in the engine bay pictures?

Ok Sappy, your boy friend Bill is on his way home, you can stop blowing up his phone now :p

Thanks for all the compliments everyone, wait till Bill posts the rest of the pictures.

Dr. SVO phd

Are we there yet?

Yes, even though I have copies of all of Bills pictures, I'm going to let him post them, it is his project you know, hang tight, he should have them up sometime tomorrow.

Is it driveable? As in is it tuned, or is he having to baby it until he hits the dyno>?

Yes its driveable. I have already put 250 miles on it. Runs great but a little rich. Also the timing is locked for the temp tune so its fairly gutless right now. The dyno tune is at 2 PM today and I will record a crap quality vid of it. :)
I have a vid of the initial fire up but the audio wont sync right. I am trying to upload it now but keep getting errors so not sure if I will be able to post it or not.

So here is a shot of all the rest of the air pump stuff going away. :)

IMGP1473.jpg

And for now I dont have cruise. We just did not have any more time to mess with it. Still have to go back to trim some more and install the trans cooler, J-mod, sway bar and rear uprights.... and valve covers. So we can work on it more then. :) So for the time being we had to use a return spring.

IMGP1471.jpg

So for the last part of our journey into hell SVO had to cut the braces and then I scrapped off the old rubberized glue crap.

IMGP1475.jpg

IMGP1476.jpg

And here is our finnished product. Had to space the back of the hood up 1/4" to clear the throttle cable bracket but its hitting the brace. Again, we just did not have any more time. I got hom at 5:00 AM and then left for work at 7:30.

IMGP1480.jpg

IMGP1484.jpg

IMGP1478.jpg

"And thats how its done kiddies!"

IMGP1481.jpg

awesome work you 1.4 guys (since gnomes dont count as a full person) cant wait till you get it all tuned and see what numbers you put down

I think Bill poo'd his pants a little when I took the torch to his hood, for the support removal, LOL :p

I told you not to look!

Dr. SVO phd

Ultimately I tried to make this look as factory stock as possible except for the conical air filter, but including the hand made bracket for the MAF/filter.

If I could have had some more time I would have done a WHOLE lot more detail work, maybe here in a few weeks he'll let me get my hands on it again and I'll do some really nice tidy up work on some of the nasty looking parts that need to be cleaned that will reall make the engine compartment pop.

All the pulleys, alternator, clean the inner fenders, replaint the underside of the hood, ah hell you all get the idea.

And fab another cruise/throttle cable bracket.

Enjoy!

That's pure awesome. Looks great cant wait to see some vids of this in action.
