Supercharged Mark VIII Quarter Mile Video...SLOW?!

It does. He forgot to turn off the TC. Hes normally 2 seconds faster.

I was watching that epsiode......with my friends. Needless to say I was embarassed for the both us. Probably the most important trip down the strip and you forget the traction control. Man Card should be revoked.

that car is a monster. The build was featured in a magazine, but i cant remember which one....

I think he said it was a test and tune day for him
thats why it was a bad time to bad it had to be on national tv
he does post her you know

I assembled 2 Ford GT engines converted to wet sump systems that were going to be installed into Shelby's. All I kept thinking was I wish I had the jing to build one of these and put it into my Mark.

The one I did was tuned to make 1000HP on Pump gas but I don't need all that much...do I :wrench

his thread he said that he left the TC on.
I was wondering if he was a member here or not?

Yes, his screen name is Mr.Shultz ....... I think. If you search for "car on pass time" you will prolly find the thread and him talking about it.

Hey Guys, Yep, that's me. Obviously, that was not a good day for the car. I had street tires on, and I left the od and tc on lol. :)

Here is a video when the car is running good, with MT ET Street bias ply inner tube DOT tires, mounted on Marauder steel spare tire 16x8 wheels. First run with the new motor, with the old s-trim Vortech supercharger and a 2.73 pulley.

The car is neutered for the street now, and has a hd bearing t-trim Vortech with a 3.33 pulley. 17psi @ 7150rpm and around 500rwhp with the current set-up. The car will run high 11's low 12's with this set-up with MT ET DR's mounted on the 18's.

really? with a 14.1? It will beat my barely stock mark viii, but claiming a 14.1 willl beat every mark on this board, really? We'd all love to be on pass time, but you'd think that car would do at least mid-13's, even on a bad day. It was not good.

hey dumb ass go back and watch the 2nd video the car runs high 11's. obviously you cant read if all you did was watch the video from pass time. the owner of the car came in here and posted a video for all to see. the car is a whole lot faster than 14.1. go back to post 11

Not talkin :q:q:q:q. If it was someone you all didn't know/respect/like or whatever, you all would be laughing your asses off. 17lbs of boost and him sayin "Oh yea its modified" then running a bone stock time. All of this happening on national TV. If this was a newbie, you guys would never let him live it down, like the kid whose rims have been on backwards for months. Hypocrites. Also, I do realize that the car will blow away most Marks on here.

Its a beautiful very well done Mark VIII, I only wish my car was that nice :)
I cant imagine whoever tuned the car left the torque correction in the tune:confused:
As for not turning off the traction control rear wheel brake system in the ABS I have done that a few times and thought I would tear something apart before I lifted my foot out of the throttle, I cant figure out how the rear brakes and rotors made it through 500HP launch
I have made it into the high 12's normally aspirated, street tires, no traction and 3:53 gears, 14.1 even with both traction control systems and street tires and low boost is very confusing

on a second gen the traction control can't be turned off in the tune. It will also cut the motor out so that the rear tires dont spin.
