SOOOOO im cruising down the road when i see this 97 lsc with octstars sitting with its ass end in the air parked in a motel parking lot with no plate, i park beside it, get out take a look, ash tray is broken, cup holder is broken, front bags are gone, then i see this peice of paper with a number on it in the back seat.

I call the number(LOL) and what do you know it was the guy who owns it. i tell him im standing beside his mark viii and im interested in buying it(for the right price) and he says ORLY. so i tell him that im an enthusiast and know the car inside out. he trys to tell me that it has 320hp and cooled seats, trac lock and 3:55 gears.

I ask, is the car stock? he says yes. so i go on to tell him what he is wrong about blah blah blah then ask him what are you looking to get for the car? he says 5900 >.<. so i ask, what makes you think its worth that much. he goes on to say, its one of the only ones in edmonton, its really rare yadada.

I explain to him whats wrong with his head and whats wrong with his car and then he says well maybe i am asking way to much... SOOO he asks me how much im willing to pay, i told him Im not giving you a number untill I can drive/get under/see the actual car. so we set up a time for tomorrow.

so what should i offer him if everything checks out? it has bout 60k miles for you southern folks. remember this is canada i wont be able to get it for like 2g's

with those issues i wouldnt pay a dollar over $1500. (unless its super lower mileage or otherwise perfect)

With 60K on it and being that its Canada I guess I could see spending $2500 on it. I wont swap an air strut with anything other then OEM so that puts you at $1000 for a pair plus alignment. Chances are it needs new ball joints too. The cup holder swap is a PITA and good ones seem to be getting more expensive every day.

Really though I would need pics to have any more idea on its value.

heres one picture the front bags air up when running

It is most definitely not a LSC. It looks like it has a LSC tail light though. Hard to tell with the small pic but the brake light appears to not have chrome trim on it. The grill on the other hand is chrome as are the body mouldings..... dead giveaway.

agree with staff, but isn't the grill on an LSC supposed to be the same color of the car, a bit easier way to id LSC's...I know 1st gen LSC's have perforated seats, not sure what difference the LSC 2nd gens have.

Yes 2nd gen's LSC's have perforated seats. Look at the leather seats... see if they are perforated as opposed to solid leather. Base has solid leather. Also base doesn't have heated seats. LSC has all painted moldings including the grill.

I'm almost positive that is a base!

actually ALL LSC's had perforated seats, not just the gen 2's

either it was hit in the front or the back. Chrome grill in front and lsc tail light:confused: just my 2 cents!

even the 95's? The 1st gens, base or LSC, never had the option for heated seats according to the Lincoln Mark VIII LSC/base book and my personal knowledge (a smidge less credible, but credible non the less ;) I did notice where the LSC's did have the option for a flexible grill...interesting, now that I've never seen! Also painted directionals...ewh...
