One problem down a million more to go...

I guess I can understand not liking the looks of a Gen 1 because I hate the looks of a Gen 2. We all have our likes and dislikes, although there are a few Gen 2's on here that I like the looks of but it took modifications, which means cash to make me like the looks.

I guess maybe, part your car out after you find another Gen 2 to recover the money spent on the next car. If I lived close enough, I'd come down there and buy the 93 from Jamie. I'm not going to fly for another one right now because I really don't need one. I just bought a 99 GMC Sanoma extended cab so I'm kinda tight on spending right now. I just wanted a little truck to play with.

Anyway, it's all about what you like and if the Gen 1 just doesn't grab your attention, then you shouldn't do the swap or do the swap until you find the Gen 2 that you do like. Not sure what the problems are with his 93 but when I was down there, it sounded mean when I drove behind it and the problems may be easily fixable where yours aren't. Put the Octi's on it and drive it till you find the silver Gen 2 you want.

Something about the car just shutting off (fuel related I think). If anything I would buy another Gen 2 and swap my stuff on to that and sell my car....however for now I'm going to try and fix this car.

That's kinda what I done but not intentionally. I blew mine up and Jamie had the one I wanted with 125K on it. Only problem I have had with it since I bought it in Feb is the alternator. I took out all the black interior from the 94 and swapped it over to get that ugly ass grey out of the 95 and now I'm done. I like black on black but I also like white on black. Oh yeah, I had to charge the AC system but it's all good now and the white opalescent has grown on me more than I thought it would. I have also added another $700 in a new grille and two new headlight housings. So, including all that and the plane ticket to go get it, window tinting, I'm in that car for around $3200 and it needs nothing else. Drives and rides perfect.

I haven't read none of the post of what you have done to try and fix problems you have with the car. But would it be more time savvy to buy another motor or just take it to a mechanic and have him find the problem and then you fix it.

I brought the car to multiple shops and each shop had multiple guys standing under my car telling me there was nothing wrong with it...then Jamie slides under and in less than 2 minutes (probably realistically 30 seconds) he found the strut rod bushing was bad, and so was my ball joint. So I had that fixed.

Right now he thinks it's my rack, so I think he's right because he seems to now his stuff.

It's just this car keeps dominoing on me...fix one part and the next breaks. I've got a lot of thinking to do.

hey ripped, dont know if you fixed the steering issue already, but i would check the u-joint in the steering shaft. if that seizes you would have zero returnability, not to mention it would handle(steer) pretty bad.

The computer started just running so freakin slow! Then I couldnt run a scan or even download anything else to scan with! Thats when I knew. So I started trying to save data to my flash drive and stuff wouldnt transfer and pics that were so imprtant to me that I could swear I backed up before just upped and vanished! I would refresh and more folders would vanish! I was just able to save my tune files and 700mb of music.... thats it. I had to do a system restore and it was working fine then couldnt add any more updates. Doing a full scan I found a few thousand sectors of the drive that were no good any more. :( I lost about 3gb of storage capacity.
It really really sucked. Lost all my Cobra and Mustang pics as well as my only pics of my fience before she was killed. Lost 3 gb of music and 4 gb of porn. Not to mention all the little crap your computer learns over 3 years.
Then I had to download 3 years of updates! 2.2gb and when I thought it was done it found another 1.11 gb to download! Just this second it popped up for more updates to the tune of 498mb!
I am getting an Apple next time.

I know the 93 has a coulpe small issues but really thats the best deal yet! Its really perfect for him as his car needs way more money still thrown at it then its worth....... says the guy thats spent 10k this year on his 4k car.

Anyway the 93 is prolly faster then his car (had it been running right) anyway.

Do it Derrik!

Did you try to boot into safe mode and run your antivirus from there? I got a free computer once that was so bad that it would not even go into safe mode. I removed the hard drive and connected it to my computer with an adapter: http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-2-0-SATA-PA...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c139e1ab0 and cleaned it that way with my computer's anti virus. Your plight has reminded me that I need to backup the photos I have on my main computer.

Repairing computers for over 20 years. Automated every water treatment plant and cement plant in Maui and wrote the entire program from scratch.
I know how to check crap and what to do. Computer gor to the point where even BIOS said the drive couldnt be tested. Drive failed.
Found my backup discs...... dont ever buy Maxell. They got scratched on the lable side, not the data side but the lable side is the foil for the writing side! So where the foil was scratched away there was no more data. What a dumb ass design! No wonder they are so cheap. :(

How can I check that?

That sucks:( I never know someone's abilities so I always ask. Mine are more in the moderate range, far from expert but enough to get myself in trouble;)

Ripped, how much you want for that motor? youll never get that car fixed..
all Mark8s domino, every time i have money to fix something, like my fuel pump.. something else will break and demand that it be fixed instead
had $100 for a fuel pump, then both my back tires went bad real fast,
then i had to buy shocks and struts, and brakes, and motor mount, and get the AC charged, and head light bulbs, then tail lights, then gas almost every other day, and window tint, then another tire, then an oil change...

i do ALL my work myself, so seriously man, my suggestion to you is, get a better job so you can pay someone to fix it, sell the car, or grab a service manual and get to reading

Yeah getting a job isn't an option right now. I'm full time in school and I'm a full time father. By the time I would pay for daycare for my son I would be lucky to make $2 an hour. Daycare is expensive. So my wife pays the bills (She's an RN) while I finish school and watch our son. We don't have immediate family close so that isn't an option, and my wife is also doing full time school on top of her full time job so she can advance herself further.

I understand cars take money but when you have almost fixed everything, there comes a point when problems should start to subside.

I'm going to buy an IMRC box and do that since that problem is back, have the steering fixed, then go from there. This whole car has been over-hauled so its got to be close to being right.

Ok, so how much do you want for the almost completely overhauled car that doesn't run worth a crap?

I'm not at the point of selling it yet...I'm going to fix the IMRC box, attempt to get this steering suspension issue under control and hope for the best. My wife really does not want me to sell it. In fact, she said unless I get a black on black gen II, she would be kind of disappointed if I sold it. Gotta please the wife...especially if she's the one that's been fronting the money to fix it. ;)

Mine would tell me to get outside and fix it myself because she would need it the next day for whatever...
And I'm willing to bet that if you had a wrench in your hand, and a manual in the other...for the same ammount of time you hand your fingers on the keyboard every night...it would be closer to fixed by now

Mine is being patient right now, fuel pump #2 of the past 2 months is going in Tuesday. Luckily she is also patient with my shooting and arcade game hobby as well.

you are a lucky man most girls would tell you to get rid of that thing ASAP!

That I am :)

Sapper she cringes when I go near the car after the hammer incident (and for good reason). That was the first time in a decade that I actually broke something out of anger. She knows usually me fixing something on the car = me breaking something else by accident. That's why I try to incessantly research something before I act.

Although I know a good amount about what combinations work great on certain cars to make them faster and handle better, I'm still a noob when it comes to working on a car. If I had access to a lift and an air gun I'd be so much more proficient at working on the car.

What type of games? And have you tried a SVT focus pump yet?

That's no excuse. A lift and air just makes things easier, it doesn't make you smarter. :p

Get a factory shop manual and start reading. ;)

True, but I would be a lot more daring with things...kind of like when you said to drop the K-member for the ds valve cover. I wouldn't have thought twice if it was on a lift, but I'm just not confident with it on stands (especially since my parking area is on a major slant).

But you are right, I need to get the book and start reading ;)
