It is a bad motor, debating between parting and fixing.

What should I do?

well this thread pissed me off.......sorry about tough times, everyone has them...but parting everything you accomplished in such a short time is just nonsense....i would do whatever it takes even if you have to cover your lincoln up and just forget about it...beaters come and go...and only have to be temporary....can be had on the cheap, and last you well through your tough times...but regardless good luck in your endevour...and if you sell the wheels LMK

Oh Bill Bill Bill. Do not, and I repeat, do not part out your car. Between you and Saperfire, you guys have enough knowledge to do a motor swap. You've already changed the K-Member in Saps car, so you know you can do it. My motor, alas is gone. I've sold traded it to my mechanic for future work on my son's Mark. Come down here and get this 97 Turd Mark for $500. It is a complete car. I would just swap K-members, and you can be driving again in less than a week. This is your best option. Then you can sell the other parts off the car and put it towards the car. This is what I was going to do anyway. You may as well do it.

bill do not part the car, listen to someone who has parted them for the last 11 years, you wont get dick for the car in parts now, i told you over thephone just sell the blower, you dont need the blower, yes, it is awesome to have it on the car, but not practical unless you can build a forged motor, the stock guts cant take the abuse. if you sell the blower, you can take half that money and buy a nice used motor allllllllllllllllllllllllllllll day long. even if the car doesnt have some of the options or colors you want, look at it now, from where it was when you got it, broke or not, dont let the motor stop you from keeping it. look at derek, he is broke too, and he out of everyone on this forum is still going strong, he should have given up on that car a long time ago and he hasnt yet! so do what he is doing, keep on keeping on. if gman and you cant work something out, i have a 97 engine, whole rotating assembly is still in it, the heads are on it, ac, p.s pump, it has no oil pan and no intake, if you dont have your stock intake still i have plenty of them. all you need to do is put your oil pan on it, i would change the main and rod bearings while its out, and i removed the entire wire harness off it, i have a few i would throw one in, you can have the entire motor as it is on my stand for $225 plus the cost of shipping. this is less than i sell the blocks for. the engine runs perfect, only reason i parted it is because i sold the pan and the whole intake for retarded money how could i say no. this is the motor i was going to keep to build one for my 97 but i have other motors in not as nice of condition. its just an offer, there is very little work to put this thing back together and in your car. and the engine swap isnt hard at all dude, dont feel like a pussy, get it on tall jack stands and drop it out the bottom onto a cart so you can wheel it out from under the car, i have tons of help laser pictures from ripped's car. keep the car bill, i understand what it feels like right now, i wanted to part my 98 out 10 minutes after i crashed it, 2 weeks later it was a whole complete sweet ride again because i cooled off!! good luck man.

Finally I get some love! :D

This is the one reason right here what I will not do any supercharger modifications to my Mark. If I want a car with a supercharger, I will just buy a Cobra Mustang. I told my son this very thing. He was ready to drop some serious cash into fixing up the Evergreen Mark. I told him not to, since he is not a wrench turner. I want him into a reliable car, and the LSC is plenty fast enough. Bill, keep your car. Sell the Kenny Bell, go back to stock motor.

Lot of good advice coming your way. Don't do anything drastic.

How much would that engine cost to be shipped Jaime? I'm sure that we can all work on something to get this engine to Bill and if they can swap it in this would solve his short term carless problem. I've been hearing that North American Van Lines does shipping for reasonable prices, but you know the best shipping method better than I do.

I tell you what dude, do what you have to do then. You asked for opinions and I gave you mine. If you want to screw yourself, feel free to do so as it is no skin off of my nose. $500 would have gotten you a beater and given you time to fix your car, but feel free to sell your sh!t for pennies on the dollar. Forgive me for even trying to help you out.
Yes, I asked for opinions and you gave yours. I obviously listen to you cause who pointed out the dang blower to me in the first place? Dont get butt hurt, I still love ya. I just cant pull $500 out my ass to buy a beater. On top of that a $500 beater will prolly cost me more in repairs then this Mark. I would LOVE to be able to do that, wouldnt you think? It fuggin kills me to sell the blower! You know how long and hard I worked to get this fuggin thing then get the million little parts needed to slap it in. The constant tuning and runnning. This was my freakin dream! Its taken its toll on me but this has happened at the worst possible time to ever happen. I have decided to keep the damn car and fix it so everyone can get off my ass about that but in order to fix it I have to sell the blower. Sorry, just the way it is. Not selling my TV or computer and thats all I really own of any value.
I agree with marked8... just buy some cheap piece of :q:q:q:q to drive for under 500 dollars... sell your wheels and put some stockers on it. You will have enough money for a beater.
I DONT HAVE $500! I dont have $200 right now. Besides, stock wheel wont fit on the car any more.
I was willing to chip in money to help him keep his car together because I know how hard he has worked to get the car together. If you have a problem with me, take it to e-mail or keep the sh!t to yourself moron. I know Bill's situation and that he is planning to do things out of frustration.
I appreciate that, I really do but I dont borrow money from friends. Thanks though.
Alright laser I have a deal you need a ride and I have two rides ill trade you my CE for the whole kit minus the 20's

This may be a tempting trade. Gotta see what the CE is like and what issues it has. If its nice and issue free then I will take it apart tomorrow. Please PM me the pics or email them to me with whatever is wrong with the car at billlindseyiii@yahoo.com

Another thing, have you guys thought about stripping down your old engine and seeing it it is savebable? I am sure that the extent of the damage is unknown at this point.

I am sure its saveable as the thing starts right up and runs great just very very loud. It screaches for a few seconds and settles into a nice rattle thats mush louder from the oil pan which I hadnt checked before. My plan was to keep the engine and slowly rebuild it over the next year. I can take the block down bare and strip the heads and send them off to be machined. Slightly overbore it and do a 5.0 setup buying one piece at a time as money gets saved. Then I would have a nice built motor to go under the blower by x-mas 2011. But if I sell the blower to get an engine or trade lincolnboy then ...... well IDK. I will prolly still build it up slowley and save up for another year for another blower.

I just really love my blower. The car is so damn nice to drive with it at the 8psi! Its so resopnsive and quick and just fun! It was my DREAM to build this car and I could really break down like a little girl and cry thinking about selling it just to get a new motor and a beater like a Cavalier or old Tempo. :(

Hey, I tried to hang with the big boys. Thats something I guess.

You can't just sell the saleens or something? (I forget whether or not you have a big brake setup..)

2800 is a very fair price for the blower imo, the nickel and dimes to install the KB to a mark are endless. I know you don't have money for a beater, but my car had to sit for 18 months while it was broke before i got the money to start building it. I hated hated hated driving a :q:q:q:q box while looking at the mark sitting in the drive, but looking back now it was worth it. The anguish of yesterday is soon forgot with the possibilities of tomorrow.

Glad you decided to keep the car together Bill..

It will all work out with some hard work and persistance. Keep your head up, things will get better soon.

Bill, I'm broke too. And my Mark is in a perpetual state of totalled, but would love to see your car fixed and WITH the blower still... Jamie has a damn good deal on that engine... you should get that, install it, and keep the boost turned down. Hell, I'll donate $25 bucks to the cause... got a paypal?

You can repay later, or not. It's a donation so don't feel obligated. And don't turn it down either! Cuz it's a donation!!

That sucks man I love what you have done with that car.
I wish you lived closer to me, I have all the parts to fix my car but no time. I'd let you fix my car and drive it untill you got yours fixed up. Good luck.

Your a good guy Bill, I wish I lived closer so that I could lend a hand. Don't do anything drastic. Good luck with whatever you do, but don't sell your blower to lincolnboy, he's a nub.

Just sell your rear wheels and tires for like $500 and use that for your motor and you can put your stock wheels on the back, it will look sweet

How much for the car as it sits?

EDIT - Just realized you didnt want to sell - but since you want one with a different color scheme maybe you would. I love the look of your car, and would sell mine, dig up some cash, and probably give you a handy dandy for yours!

Just wow everyone. I didnt know I had so many friends on here. I have gotten some offers of help and offers of purchse and offers of trade that have me really thinking.
Through a few people here there is a way for me to fix the car and keep the blower on it. My greed for wanting to keep the car the way I built it is overpowering my principals of not borrowing money.
The offer that some of you guys have given me to help make this happen are just beyond beliefe and makes me so damn happy to have the friends on here I have cultivated. You guys know who you are and I really thank you.

I have some very serious thinking to do today to see if I want to accept the offers and fix it and keep it the rare car it is or if I want to keep my head up and sell the blower to get a motor or trade it for lincolnboys car.

Always wanted a Cordovan CE..... quite bad actually..... but his car has so many issues that I would just end up taking all the stuff off mine and putting it on that one and really, my 98 deserves better then that. I have so much blood, sweat and tears not to mention a chit ton of cash in that car. The only thing it needed was a fresh paint job and a new roof liner. Car was perfect otherwise......... some serious thinking to do.

Laser an idea would also be to raffle something of good value. Raffles are good ways of making some money. I'd be in on a raffle ticket

Laser, PLEASE don't get rid of the car or the blower setup. Couldnt you just suck some **** for money? jk It would really suck to see the car either sold or parted after all this work you did to it...
