It is a bad motor, debating between parting and fixing.

What should I do?

Like ive said since the day you were thinking about adding a blower, buy a DD then mod your car!!!! Sell blower, buy new motor and DD.

When you are back in a good spot you can mod your car without having to worry about how your going to get to work the next day.

In all seriousness, I too thank all of you for your input, those who are willing to donate funds for a new engine, that's awesome.
I'm quit sure,as I've riden in that car and have driven it a couple times, I would be heart broken to see it next to the fence missing several pieces.
Bills Mark viii deffinatly deserves to have a fighting chance to stay on the road, and with that being said, we could more than likely get a block for about $500...a NEW motor can be found for around $1400, and with me donating my labor, it shouldn't be too much of a problem doing a swap..
Just need to find an engine hoist and I'm ready for surgery
 
Jaime offered a working engine for $225 plus shipping. I don't think anyone is going to beat that.

The shipping is the big concern in that one. Jamie and me were just pissing on each other a few minutes ago over the motor. I thought it was covered in oil, its just dirty like hell. He said it runs and makes no noise or smokes and chit so thats good enough for me I guess. Only a temp motor anyway. As long as shipping isnt rediculous and I can scrape the funds together then it looks like thats what I will be doing.
 
bill i will check with a few local transports this weekend, Old Dominion, South Eastern Frieght lines and Yellow to see what kind of numbers i can get. south eastern used to treat us real good, but its 52 miles one way to get there and i dont have a truck, so that means i have to find someone who is generous enough to help me help you!!

Jamie, Southeastern has a pick up service even if you dont have your own fork lift.
 
Well I didn't start this thread to get donations for this stuff! :lol: Its appreciated and all but I am not comfortable with handouts. I have a hard enough time taking a loan. There is a number of things I need to do to make this happen and Jamie's engine with marked8s help is a great start and I have another friend to help me get the funds for shipping and a couple things I will need to do the job like an engine hoist and some HD dolly's to move the k-member around.
Now the donor motor is a bit old and I have to make it last for a year. My tune is uber safe and the boost is low but it still is a little risky. Doing the math between getting another stock intake and then new stock fuel lines and rails plus injectors and all the little crap I got rid of is gonna be way more then a cheap meth setup to combat the next few months. I can prolly sell my PS3 and the shotgun to get a kit. Not sure yet but I don't wanna pull the engine again until I have a built one to go in its place.


Having a car will allow me to get a job which is currently impossible being where I live. I was stuck in a catch 22 and I cant thank the people who have greatly offered themselves up a big enough thanks. I really did think I was gonna loose my baby or at least her heart and it tore me up. I lashed out at some people and ragged on my car. Truth be told, I love my car like non I have ever owned. I never wanted white but now I couldn't imagine anything else. The graphite is my least favorite but its not unliked. I just like black or tan better. There are times I will go out there and just sit in the car and imagine driving it again. I cant let her go!

I've still got the seized engine out of my 97 until tomorrow morning. I've got a guy meeting me tomorrow to buy it from me. I told him that I'm keeping the intake, IMRC's, valve covers and oil pan. Do you want the intake, fuel rails, and injectors? Anything else you want? I didn't tell him I wanted the fuel rails/injectors, but I can probably get them if you want them. You've gotta let me know tonight though. I'll PM you my cell number or you can PM me about this stuff....
 
To do this right and not blow the motor up I will need all the help I can get. I have swallowed my pride and accepted a couple loans to get this started rolling. The people loaning me the cash was under the terms that I keep the blower and I agree. Hell, I JUST spent over $1400 tuning and installing it.... prolly more and all that would be wasted and lost should I get rid of it.
So for those of you wanting to support the cause then please PM me with what you wanna do so I can keep it all organized and know where my first 20 paychecks will be going. :lol:

I cant thank you all enough for the assistance. Some of you I have been talking with over the last 24 hours have really made me have hope and for me that is something in very short supply. I went from wondering just how much more crap I can take until I pop to being very optimistic and hopeful. Its all of you I have to thank for that. You guys are like the family I always wanted instead of the ones I have that steal and destroy all my stuff and life.

I am at a loss of words really and I am glad nobody is here to see me all misty eyed. :lol:

I think we need to plan a meet at Lasers place for next summer. If we plan now I will drive to Texas for it.

Yup and I'm on the couch!...also the right end of the couch..that's my dinner seat

bu I have a huge ass tent..it's a 2 room...good luck with the spiders
