coyote swap?

I seen a new v6 stang eat the azz out of a v8 ls at the street light in front of my store. It wasn't even funny, but I lol'd anyway. Guy had exhaust on it already I think. Sounded really mean for a V6.

While I'd love to "bring you up to speed" I simply cant/wont due to my comments would spawn 15 pages of BS replies from people that have their head stuck either up their AZZ or beleive everything they read in MM & FF

too many times I've given good accurate information to the community and have had to spend 10 times the amount of time spent on the original post, splitting hairs with internet experts who haven't driven their mark 8 forwards as far as I've driven mine backwards.

meh.. I'm really fed up with the internet as a whole..
I say we should boycott teh web!!!

Where do we start our pickett line?

*thinks up catchy slogans*

"We dont like the internet,
makes us wonder where knowledge went!"

Oh dear lorrrrrd.. not the braking and handling comeback..

that sounds like something I would read on Houston-imports.com

Ricer Excuse much?

The mark 8 handles and stops just fine.

I've had my car well above 140 MPH (needle pointing straight down) and never felt the car was "out of control" or "wouldn't be able to stop".

sheeeez bill..

you bring that thing to the next Autocross at Gulf park..and I'll show you that my STOCK SWAY BARS and STOCK BRAKES WILL run AS fast if not faster than your ubermodded superior handling car.

"drops the gauntlet and walks away"

Some like Tom, know muy customer Jason (The AT&T guy) and his new 5.0 is sitting in the rail yard waiting to be released after the software hold up that Ford was doing.

This 2011 GT will be in my hands for mods very, very shortly.

Any ways I see no serious issues for being able to swap the new 5.slo inthe FN10 platform as of this point, since the platoform already comes in both standard and automatic I now see where the FN10 platform can now have it;s cake and eat it too.

First the standard transmission:

The sifter in he S197 platform cars is a rail shifted box with an add-on shifter assy that puts the shifter some 8-10 rearward, bouns for the FN10 folks, now all you need is a pedal assy that can be hydraulically actuated, not too hard to fab up actually, and the fluid feeds from the mastercylinder from the brake master.

Trans out put shaft has a flange that will have to be adapted to a one piece drive shaft, still nothing about rocket science here.

The Automatic

Now since the FN10 plaform is already an automatic set up this is cake at it's best, 6spds and computer controlled.
Not much more to get into about this, other than the drive shaft again, already coverd above.

The engine:

Still loosely baised on the 4.6, motor mounts should be interchangeable, if not, fabbed one are all that are to make.

PCM:

Here you go, take it directly from the donnor vehicle you got it from, be it stick or slush box, the harness for the engine and trans are one, and come out with the whole assy.

The PCM has three plugs on it and is PC baised (so-to-speak) the other plug is for the CAN-BUS data on the stabillity control, ABS, SRS, Body Control, HVAC, and PATS, most of this can be intergrated with the old systems and or/upgraded with thier respected moduals, and some with the availability of tuning software can be written out (Traction Control can not be at this time) other systems can be disabled/ or put into a fault status, like we had to at Shelby with the Grabber blue 2010 to keep Stabillity Control to stop activating the brakes, during heavy cornering and pending drift, which had the brakes smoking hot, and didn't allow for the driver to control the car to to the edge of the envelope.

This is not a difficult swap, ther will be as much software work needed to be done to account for absent or molested CAN-BUS moduals but no big deal.

This is cake, and once you make enough monies to get over the sticker shock of the drivetrain cost you'll be right on track, bring me the car and the complete pullout drivetrain and go away and let me do what I do.

Dr. SVO phd

Thank you Dr.SVO that is some great info. my mark is already running a t56 out of a cobra i am guessing the bellhouseing has not changed so the 5.0 should bolt right up to it. so all i would really need is the moter and the PCM crap. this swap is way down the road for me but i am already jumping up and down its going to be a long 3 years!

bitch, at what point do you think you fit into the general populace of this community?

Dont flatter yourself Bill, you do not represent the majority of this community with your knowledge level NOR spending habits.
Yay! Im not a general idiot! I am a special idiot!

I have spent much more than that on my car
don't include all of us in the "crowd"

a prime example of my point in case....

NOT ME, I'm not cheap.. OH NO.. dont lump me into that group.

(shakes head)

you ready to right a 20K+ check to Jeff?

Diiiiidn't think so... so what is the relevance to this other than to try and be argumentative which is EXACTLY the point I was making to Bill

This car cost over $40k and an SVO Mustang to build (few have that kind of monies to drop on my services), and almost runined a 20+ year friendship.

This is a similar swap as what your talking about yet I did it back in 2003 when the boosted Cobra first came out, what a fantastic way of celebrating Mustang's 40th Anniversery.

Damn Jeff!!!

What haven't you built???

OMG Brandon, I wish I could answer that, well ok no Top Fuel cars, I did crew on Lee Pealer's Alcohol car in Columbus< Ohio for a short time.

But really, I honestly couldn't tell you, I have been involved in so much stuff it makes my head spin some days, I have a whole wall dedicated to all sorts of crap, and a closet of more junk.

I dunno, you might have to ask Tom, he's been around for prolly 65%-75% of most of it, a little less since we live some 155.2 miles from each other now.

Past few years has been quite a bit of 4WD and Off Road stuff, really in just the past few years have the Marks, Mustangs, and Shelby's been really showing back up, guess thier tired of getting ripped off.

For you and some others here's a little bit of what your looking at mechanically to do something like this:

This is how it started 9 months ago.

All wiring was re-hand made from a 96' GT harness.

As you can tell from some of the other photo's this is not being built in some high zoot shop, this is your regular ole garage.

At least it has a fridge to keep the tasty beverages cold.

Another swap I was in the preliminary stages of doing:

So this whole Coyote swap is nothing new, and a few hurdles to get over it's just how much do you have to throw at it?

Like it was stated you can hop up a 4.6 and be just as fast if not faster, for a lot cheaper.

But hey I'm in it to win it, who's got some bank let's do this I'm ready!!!

BTW, I have jack stands that are almost as tall as ya'lls Marks:

I'll let XLRVIII fill you all in on the fundimentals of block endurance, but let me show you what happens when you surpass these elements IE:

740 turbocharged horsepower on a stock 3 valve motor, this was a mess to clean up:

You need to look closely at what the new 5.0 is made out of, and that it's nearing it maximum limits as it is now, in the next few months your gonna see a lot of these motors scattered everywhere.

That was done and gone a long time ago, two plus years ago, I photo archive EVERYTHING that I work on, it doesn't matter what it is.

My archives have proved to be a very valuable tool, and at this point I wouldn't change a thing about how I do that portion of my work.

WTF, you all butt hurt cause I didn't take any photos of your junk?

I was a little hell bent for time there, but hey, it's not like you couldn't have picked up a camera and started taking pictures, I'd be more than happy to add them to your album on my web page if you did infact get some.

Don't be a cum bubble about this sometimes it happens, on a rare occasion, but it still happens.

Let's review for a second, time + labor + life saver = cost????? ;)

I don't like having to bust anyones balls, but........................
