ChatRoom is open

yeah and fukked up air compressors. I think the chat room should be set for a night where people can stay up a little later or have a chat room open for every night. Messed up when you go in there and you're alone lol.

get rid of them,or if you want a lifetime of parts going bad figuring out which one is bad stcik with it.

 are you suggesting to get rid of the air ride? See, it's like this. When the front of the car dips, you buy a new OEM air shock and then a month or two later, buy another one and you're good to go for 15 years. Eddie has compressors right now for $135 with a 2 year warranty. I'm finding the front air shocks right now for under $350 each to the door. Rears rarely ever go bad and not really that high if they do. I would even go with Arnott's on the rear, just not on the front.

Yes, I know I'm talking over $700 but I'm also talking about worry free air for a good 10 years or better. It's one of those things you have to maintain. Can't just let it go.

Like you, I put more money into a car then it's worth because I want a nice ride, but $700 here, $400 here, I know you must have THOUSANDS in your car by now... My TBird I have probably put $1000 into (only because the GF hit a deer with it -- TWICE!). It runs great, but the engine leaks & burns oil so I'm building another engine (on the cheap, but with performance upgrades, nonetheless).

Most don't do that is what I'm getting at. I didn't - I put the springs from a Sport Bird I'm parting out - FREE (kind of).

Not sure how much I have in mine now. I paid $2,000 for the car, then bought new headlight housings, new corner lenses, new grille, two new front air shocks, bought a good compressor from American Air. Just bought some Octi's for it but haven't had them put on yet. I'm just trying to keep it as a Mark VIII and the front end stuff I had was kinda faded and since it's normally in the garage for the most part, I wanted to have a fresh newer looking front end. As for the air ride, I'll admit, it does cost but the parts are good for many many years if maintained. I'm in the process now of buying two more new air shocks before there are no more. Probably will go ahead and get another compressor and put that stuff away, just in case but as it stands now, the air ride is in perfect working order.

All of the stuff I bought for the front was all from Tasca before their prices went way up. I got lucky. The grille now is about $100 more than what I paid and I don't even know what the headlight housings cost from them now. I do know that the corner lenses are right at $200 each + shipping but were about $140 when I got them. Grille was $285, housings were around $220 each or something like that but with HID's being in them, I'll never have to worry with them again, unless it's wrecked. I'll be pissed if that ever happens lol. I know they'll total it if it is ever hit, especially in the front.

I guess my main thing is that I wanted a Mark VIII and I want to keep it as a Mark VIII, for as long as possible. 118K on it now, I only run Mobile 1 fully synthetic oil and 93 octane gas. When setting at a red light, I can't even feel the car running. If I keep it maintained like this, just engine wise now, it should last me for years to come. No rust anywhere on it. It never gets rained on and if it does, it's because I got caught out in it but I dry it off as soon as I get it back home in the garage. Family thinks I'm obsessed but they all have car payments. I don't.

Last week was a very good time, Mike(94m5) was there and also Jeremi(mad1stgen) along with a bunch of other active members.

sorry, i fell asleep at the keyboard! nightime meds make me sleepy otherwise i twitch all night. hope u didnt miss. chat tonight at 10 pm? what say?
and as to air rides i had prob after prob, this sensor, that o ring, the front sensor, every time i fixed something something else would go i got the whole am -air coil over on special for 325 + shipp. 2.5 hrs labor, done. if you drive normal its fine rides smooth. any performance, high speed, swerving in traffic. dips, bumps, really sloppy. when all the other things are done, new motor, rims n tires, paint, then ill do the suspension to get the height right where i want.for me its a daily driver came down to cost vs time down. cant beat it even at todays prices its still better and if you take everything out correctly you can put it back if you want, i just have the switch off in trunk to avoid warning light that just comes on when i start that switch is off, hit reset and done. i havent cut the wire just in case if in decide to put it back or sell it to someone who wants to.
