That's right! My car has felt slow as :q:q:q:q for the last few months (especially when it was on jackstands ;) ) and of course the suspension was all messed up. So Jamie fixed the LCA and strut rod bushing today and when he went in there he noticed the brake hose was split...strange my brakes seemed to work ok. He noticed the caliper was frozen onto the caliper so it was ALWAYS applying the brakes on the pass side. He swapped that out and changed my suspension components and had me take it out for a ride...

HOLY CRAP it felt like it gained 80hp! The thing wasn't slow anymore. So I just figured I'd let you all know that it could be possible to gain 80hp from calipers :D

Because the strut rod bushing, ball joint, and lower control arm bushing at the frame were all split and bad. So all of the "pulling" to the passenger side issues were thought to be from the failed suspension parts. Once Jamie took the tire off he instantly knew what was wrong.

Other than that I'm by no means an expert. In fact a good portion of you on here know WAAAAAAY more about cars than me so compared to you guys I'm still just a rookie :D
 
it was weird when i jacked up his front end i for whatever reason spun the pass side tire by hand and it felt like the brakes were on, i went to the driverside and spun it to show derrik it should turn free, so i took the right wheel off and the brake hose was starting to rot, it looked like one hard stab on the brake could blow the line, so i changed the whole rubber line and caliper from the 97 in my shop. the lower control arm inner bushing had so much slop in it i could wiggle the arm back and fourth a good 1/4 inch, one of the strut rod bushings had come apart on the strut rod, the rubber on the outside seperated from the metal sleeve that runs through it, and the ball joint was so dry and rough feeling when i moved it around, i could actually lift up on the ball joint stem and it moved about an 1/8 inch up and down, all this crap on the right side of the car was all working against itself. so it seems that its all up to par now, all he has to do now is hide the hammer.
 
I think I need to take my car to Palm Harbor, put $1,000 in the glove compartment & let Jamie work his magic! I swear if I had the money I'd do it! My car needs new suspension parts upfront, new rotors (all 4 are warped), new bags again, one new air line as well, bag has slowly goes down do to line leak & my headlights are yellow!

Jamie it's time for a good few weeks without marks my friend....or then again you can hang out at your shop and "corn fields" might stop by for a gander......HAHAHA

While he was working on that stuff I switched out the IAC for another used one he had and cleaned it out. So that could have helped with the hesitation, but so far so go. I'll know after the next few days if the hesitation problem is solved because it was a sporadic issue.

Its not so much a graph as it is a brown smear. :lol:

Ya think you would go "Hey, smells like my brakes are on fire." or seen the smoke when you stopped the car.
How much pad was left? And because thats a serious ammount of heat I assume Jamie checked the wheel bearing?
Would love to see a shot of the rotor..... bet its a pretty blue mirror finnish.

HAHA! Surprisingly the brake had tons of pad left and the rotor looked fine. I think it was only lightly applying the brake because when jamie would spin it, the wheel would move, but only about a 1/4 turn. I don't think it was enough pressure to really damage anything....thank god, because those EBC dimpled/slotted rotors weren't cheap, neither were the EBC green stuff pads!
 
for whatever reason i think it was more of a problem as in the brakes worked fine, but when the pedal was not applied i think the caliper wasnt releasing completely. it wasnt getting stuck fully applied, it just wasnt fully releasing, i cant understand why it did what it did the line had physical damage and from the looks of it, it has been like this for a long time and finally gave in. the rotor has no signs of getting hot, and it isnt warped. the wheel bearing is fine i already thought of it all, come on now wtf give me some credit billy! oh well, its finished now, it works right, now i just need to meet derrik down at bradenton speedway and shut his cock sucker up when i blow the doors off mc hammer.
 
The rubber brake lines will degradate over time and the interior of the lines will soften. Then a small piece will peel away from the brake lining. It will act as a gate. When you apply the brake, the pressure will force the gate up against the brake lining. Once you release the brake and the pressure, this flap will collapse and cause a dam in the flexible rubber brake tubing, preventing the pressure from dissipating normally. Eventually the pressure will normalize but repeated breaking will hold the pad on the rotor for extended periods of time thus reducing pad life and eventually rotor wear and failure.

And yes, I am the smartest m.therf.cker on the site despite what Jamie seems to think. :hump:

Hesitation is not solved. The other IAC wasn't the solution to the problem. I started it today, let it warm up for about a minute, and when I pulled out onto the main road again it felt like it was running on 1 cyl. After beating the snot out of her she started feeling better but not 100%. F@ck this car!

Well beating the snot out it meant putting the pedal to the floor...something even you do Jamie ;) Actually come to think of it, I think everytime I've seen your car it somehow included you flooring it :D
 
i have never put my car to the floor yet, no reason to, its still faster than yours at 3/4 throttle.
 
derrik my pedal has never touched the carpet yet EVER, i have never floored the car once since i got it.
