Picked The Mark up from Aric's today, and the daggum blend door is not working. :( I dropped the glove box, and moved the gray arm down, and I now have heat, but I am not looking forward to replacing that blend door motor. This is the second time this has happened. The first time was when I first purchased the car back in 2002, and the dealer replaced it for me.

I have looked at all the how to instructions, and ordered the part. Just wondering if anyone has any advise, or short cuts to help get this done in a couple hours instead of the 6 hours the dealer says it takes to get this done.

Don't drop the column, it is a waste of time. Removing the message display makes the left side bolt removal very easy. I believe Jaime holds the record on these at about 90 minutes. It took me about 3-4 hours taking my time.

mike take a road trip down here i have a brand new in the box accuator the new designed they dont break like the older ones, thats probably why yours broke again, it wont take you too long to get here, come down on the weekend you can hang out while i do it, takes me 80 minutes now lol i beat my old time. i charge 200 flat fee for a blend door but if you come down from atlanta i'll save you some money and do it for $100! you can go through my stash while you are here and see if there is anything you want!!

well mike did say he ordered one already so i can sell the one i have, its brand new in the original ford box, i also have the grey arm that the blend door links too, sometimes the grey arm breaks too, you would have to look at yours and make sure it didnt break.

lol Thanks for the offers, guys! :) And Jamie, that is very tempting. But I first want to see if I can get it done here in the ATL before traveling to get it done. I am planning to go to my time share in Orlando sometime in late June, so if I have not finished it by then, I definitely will be giving you a call Jamie. :)

Yes, I have ordered a nib blend door motor, but have no idea if it is the latest version from Ford. I hope it is.

The gist of the short cut procedure seems to be:

Remove the dash bolts, center console, message display screen, and pull the passenger side of the dash out far enough to r&r the blend door actuator then put it all back together. Am I missing anything?

mike i will write you an email after work tonight and tell you how i do it. very simple, you'll love me for it!

I did one on my 97, I am an auto tech, but it was the first BDA I ever did, it took me maybe 2 hours total. Just gotta have the right tools in reach.

I did mine in 4 hours when I first bought my car and that was using the step by step instructions I downloaded somewhere.....

jamie def. flys through these....have seen it with my own eyes....and also helps i know the secrets of the holy mark 8 muffinator now....lol.....it is simple and straight foward the way he does it ....you will be thanking him for sure.....good luck

Jamie can I get that email too? I've got 2 friends that want me to do theirs pretty soon. When I did mine 6 years ago I used the writeup on .org and did it in 4 hours. I'd love to be able to do them faster.

Well, I don't WANT to send ANY. LOL. However, I think I've got $15 in my PayPal account that I recently got from Microsoft Bing cashback, that I could part with.

Jamie, I'm most likely doing one of the blend door replacements this Sunday, so I would REALLY appreciate the info if you could send it to me.

P.S. I have $16.50 in my account that I can send you. If you insist on payment for the instructions, then that's what I can give you for them.

jamie, i know you've givin alot to this forum. but charging for easier instructions? I did mine 2 years ago and it was hell with the original instructions. many would like to no the jamie secret.
