Blend Door Actuator

i have given alot in the last 11 years and some things i like to keep to myself, i dont want your money, i was being sarcastic but i dont feel because i know a super fast method that i have to share it with everyone, everyone knows something in life they would rather keep to a select few. i'm not trying to be a dick, but i feel alot of people want from me just because i know something and it irritates me. no one ever told me dick about the blend doors, and very little about the mark in general, look at my sign up date, i started working on marks in 1999,. everything i knew about them up until i joined these forums i did all on my own with no ones help, see what i am getting at? greedy, NO far from it, a dickhead sometimes YES absolutely. i try to help people out as much as i can but sometimes i feel like some people just want a free ride off me and that doesnt sit well. sorry, i have a hair across my ass.

what seems :q:q:q:qed up that i wont tell the guy how to do his blend door faster. what the :q:q:q:q ? how about someone else tell the guy why do i have to be the one to give away something that i know. all the sudden i am a bad guy bull :q:q:q:q everyone else can :q:q:q:q all over people on here and its all funny and i wont share 1 little piece of information with someone here and now thats wrong, i'm too much of an ass hole, please.
 
i have to agree with jamie on this one ....i have secrets for working on cars that i have learned the hard way and picked up through the years of workin on them...i only share my secrets with a few people....think of it this way ...jamie has perfected blend door repair his way....and he charges accordingly ....so if he gives his secret out now someone else can charge people in their area basicly whatever they want aslong as they beat the dealership and make money off something that was shared with them for free.....come on...give him a brake if he wants to share it with certain people then that is his choice.

I respect you as a person and for what you've done for many members on here with various parts/procedures/knowledge, but I can say for a fact that I've never NEEDED anything from you, and I certainly don't NEED or, for that matter, WANT your 'secret' method bad enough to kiss your ass or beg you for it, or even pay you for it.

Someone else can charge people whatever they want anyway. Whether they get the procedure from Jamie, from the tech section, or from Ford manuals.
The person wouldn't be making money off the 'secret,' they're making money off of their labor. I'm not doing these guy's blend door replacement's for the money, I'm doing it to help out other Mark VIII owners. I (like most people on this forum would be), was asking about this so that I could do the job faster and save my FRIEND even more money on labor over the price of the dealership.

as far as my " secret method" thats a term even a dummy can understand for " its my way that i found works best for me and cuts tons of time off and i dont have to :q:q:q:qing tell anyone anything". so if this is gonna turn into a pissing contest i wont say :q:q:q:q on here anymore ever, if you used the :q:q:q:qing search function hard enough you'll find a write up that i already did.
if he was your real friend you'd be doing it for free and wouldnt care how long it took. thats another difference between me and you!

exactly my point, i gave mike the info because i know mike, we have done tons for each other, you i dont know, you said you dont need anything from me and i certainly will never need anything from you. you dont see anyone else on here offering you this same info do you so why the :q:q:q:q am i the bad guy, we are all a community why is it up to one person to save the day? people call my house at all hours of the night asking for advice or help, i get phone calls daily for prices, i send pictures to people, we get shipping quotes left and right, we bend over backwards for people and then they disappear off the face of the earth, never to be heard from again, so when this :q:q:q:q happens and then someone asks me for something i sit back and think, why should i, how about i do to everyone what is done to me daily, so now i am being a dick. sorry 98Linc it was a bad time for you to ask me.
 
Things I learned the hard way:

Don't drop the column, it is not necessary.
Don't remove the radio. I have no idea why person who did the original writeup stipulated to do so.
Remove the message center and keyboard if you have big arms/hands. In my case I skinned up my arms pretty well trying to reach the upper left bolt.

These tips worked for me but may not work for you.

I can see Jaime's point here, he is running a business where people come to him for his speed and discount price in changing these out. He was trying to help a friend of his and then people started to beg a little, jokingly or otherwise, until it became annoying to him. He has every right to say no on one of his secrets. Think of it as trying to get a racer's custom ground cam specs for free. He just is not going to give that hard earned secret to you.
If you have done this before you should be able to figure out what was necessary and what was not on your own.
 
thank you very much i'm glad someone understands. listen, i have been here now for 4 years, you can see i post often. if i want to share certain things i'll post about them like i always do. if you dont see me reply to questions on this forum its because i either dont know, or dont want to share, period. like i said, the first time i got hounded about the blend door i wrote up a quick how to, where it went on here i have no clue, look for it, its the same god dam thing i sent mike in an email, its how i do it, if you cant find it, not my problem, i'm not doing it again. and congrats for getting the worst out of jamie, now you all get to see what i can be like when i get pissed off. i am never like this until people hound me.
i do apoligize to everyone else who never sees me like this but we all let loose and tonight is my night.

ya he is ....he gets like this almost on a daily basis at work....but if you worked with us you would understand....he needs some coronas and lime!....or a good beat run in the fuso.....
 
if i was in the FUSO right now i guarantee it would never move again. what i need is a change of identity and move to alaska.
 
Jamie, I got your PM. Thanks. You really didn't have to do that, but I do appreciate it. I think maybe we both caught each other having bad days and clashed. That, coupled with the impersonal nature of the internet just didn't mix well.
