Today I spent the morning @ Rich's house in Lauderdale. My trip was sweet with the exceptions of whenever I'd have to kick my car into neutral or Park & it would scream up to 2000 - 2300 rpms. So I got to Rich's house & he came up with the idea of smacking the IAC while running just to see if it would budge. Sure enough within the first 3-4 whacks at it the rpm's went down. Of course as soon as I started the car again it went sky high! Fvcking IAC! Then we Seafoamed the car to see if it would help.... Ummm, NOPE!

Any ideas on how to SMOOOOOOOOTHLY brain that IAC out on my Gen 1? In other words, without having to use a crowbar?

Jamie, you have no idea how eager I am to drive to you man. Especially to do a group thing with Rich & others. I just can't trust my car as it currently is. Look up all my threads, this car has had more problems than Bill Clinton & all his sluts! Trust me, with money in my pocket I'd drive to you to fix EVERYTHING wrong with it but I truly can't afford a possible tow if that car breaks down somewhere between... Fvck, wait... how much is a U-Haul trailer? I swear I'll trailer this b!tch to you after Thanksgiving!
 
The IAC was the reason I got my Gen 1. CEL light was on for lean bank 1 and the IAC. I couldn't find my 1/4 drive stuff so I had a friend R&R the IAC and ran a can of injector cleaner through the engine and off went the cell.

So glad if it happens again the Gen 2 is a we bit easier to do :p

Yeah dude, quite a diferrent story on a Gen II for sure. That sucker's right on top.
 
It's $50 for the trailer, $80 in gas (one way), and five hours of driving @ 70 mph. You're better off driving it there. Your car runs fine. Wait till you see the POS we are driving home today. If that makes it, you won't have a problem. Just don't take it out of gear!!

That's not what I'm worried about! I'm worried about the upper & lower control arms! That front suspension has me worried! Especially with those wide ass wheels!:(

I b!tch & complain but when money's tight, that's as far as it goes. Guys, me with $2,000 in my pocket right now & I would make miracles happen to this car! God knows it deserves it. I've completely resurected it from it's former disgusting shape, spent about $1,500 on it already but it needs more. It needs the cash I don't currrently have.....

That's why I decided yesterday & donated the car to a local church!





YEAH RIGHT!!! LMAO!!!:D HAHAHAHAHA!!! NEVERRRRRR! I just gotta suck it up & not touch the car until I can afford it.

I was looking at that last night! Next weekend I'm taking off the front wheels, leaving the car on stands & start working on the upper control arms.

Rich... You wanna gimme a hand? We bring Elliot to my house & we start working on my car. I also have to install the plugs, wires & that stubborn IAC.
Even if we don't replace the IAC, we can get drunk by the end of the day & talk plenty of Mark VIII bullsh!t. hehehehe :D
 
trailer it up here, bring me a doner motor, and we'll have a party in my shop, alex will get a boner for the whole weekend! as long as i dont pass a stone again it could be fun!!! rich never had a dull time at my shop, even taking me to the E.R, wtf why would he have, he got to drive my car lol!

You never tell them you are towing a Mark. They will tell you it's too heavy. We always tow 1997 or 1998 Toyota corollas!! It couldn't be this coming weekend. It would have to be the weekend after.

Rich, I'm towing a Smart Car... They can't argue there. Hey, I'm definitely taking this into concideration! That weekend is abit complicated but it's my only chance until after February when I get married. Between the holidays & wedding planning I've got my hands tied. I think we should bring our ladies, let them do their thing & hang out with Jamie's wife. Plus, the more they get along, the more we can do these Mark VIII gatherings! Can you imagine our women actually encouraging these Mark VIII gatherings? Hmmm! WE NEED OUR WOMEN TO GET ALONG!!!;)
 
leave the women behind this is my mancave, no women allowed near it, and my wife wont do anything anyway, she is just like me, work, work, work she wont leave her sewing machine unless the house is on fire. its christmas time, she puts out mad orders this time of year so you can count that out!!!

My wife has no problem with these "Mark VIII gatherings". I can prove it with my gas bill. My wife would rather hang out at the beach and spend the profit money after I sell one of these cars. Between the crashed windshield and gas, the profit is shrinking rapidly. But that's Ok...I'm having fun!!

Ok then I need help on this one! I always tell me girl I don't have TIME to do all that wedding crap! We are supposed to have a sh!t load of wedding crap to do that weekend but I was planning on telling her that it's a weekend for us to get away & do nothing wedding related while I enjoy eating sh!t with my car.

Now I have no idea what to tell her... Umm yeah, remember the wedding itenerary? I'm not doing sh!t, it's just you because I'm going to Tampa with the boys!!! :shifty:
 
I guess I'm lucky. I just picked the boat we had the reception on and she did all the rest. After her being with me 8 years before we got married, she understood my love of my cars and leaves me do what I want. So many months of planning and BS for just a few hours....
