I haz one and from what I've seen on ebay in the past, i'm pretty sure I could get a decent penny for my set (phone, holder, cord ect). I already removed the module in the trunk, the input panel in the center console (replaced w/ non cp panel) and the factory amp/system has been long gone so it really serves no purpose.

My main question.....Why would people still want to buy them? The only thing I can think of is that it's for those m8 lovers that want what the car was orig equip'd with.

No idea. They cannot be used any more because there analog or something like that. Every mk8 guy would pull them out for more storage space like I did I bet. So I can get good money for mine where do I sign up? LOL

As I was reading your post I was asking myself the same exact question as your last paragraph..these phones are useless and take up space, only reason to have it would be so you can say your car came with a factory mobile phone..oooh la la

I've seen people buy boxes of old rusty nails...sell it

Not sure either why someone would want one, unless it is for keeping the car just as it came from the factory. I threw mine in the garbage from the 93 and 94. The 95 didn't come with one or the same would have happened with that one too. If you can sell it and make cash, go for it. I promise, I won't be a bidder. :p

I did pull it out after the first week. But as I was gathering my new/old/spare parts to put in a box I asked myself if I really needed it, the answer was no but I didn't want to throw it away either. Then I came across a completed ebay listing that sold for 50 bucks just for the phone itself, I figure the set could fetch a little more. Now i'm asking myself if I should just keep it just to have it.

Think I might just put it on for 99 and see if it sells.

Can't hurt anything. I put my extra Gen 1 grille on there for 4 days at $230 with 5 pics and then removed it on the 4th day and it only cost me $1.07 :shifty:

Didn't really care if it sold or not but if it did for $230, then I would have let it go. It had 18 watchers and I'm sure before it ended, it probably would have sold. Oh well, had my fun. Now it's going in the closet with the other stuff I'm also hoarding. :p

I might put it back on there again in a few weeks for $250 and let it run it's course. If it sells, it sells, if not, then no big deal.

If it's your only spare i'd hold onto it, a gc g1 grill will sell for what you'd want out of it.. I'm so very tempted to sell the parts I just picked up but then the "what if" pops in my head. I'd kick myself if I ever needed a harder to find part I sold.

I think it's just kinda fun to grab up good deals and collect little by little, just knowing it's there if ya need it. :)

i was searching for something the other day because i was going to try to use the pillar speaker for the hands free option and passed a few phones for 49.99

theres one,but i was thinking of getting a new stereo with the hands free phone option or they have one of those that use a low fm band transmitter but thought it would be cool to use. i talked with a stereo guy and he said it could be done, but off the top of his head it would be a real PITA unless the wires were all still there and in tact.

The style the1andonly put up is the older style. Not sure if those are as desirable. There were also "Ford" versions of the later model type phone that didn't seem to be as desirable either... If you have a bunch of these:

I'd post them one at a time and make some bucks.

I posted one like that on all of the forums a year or so ago. I told people to make offers and got a couple $20 offers, and 1 $40 offer. I let it go for the $40 offer. I was only expecting about $10...

If I had the cash I'd buy it. What the hell, just for sh!ts & giggles. It's a nice little option our cars brought in their center console.

What would be even cooler is to make it work! :D

Mine's staying in, as well as the antenna on the back glass. Just as a novelty; back in the 90s that was state of the art. Also, it's totally cherry.

And I've often had the same thought: if someone made a circuit board that you could swap out with something inside the phone to make it digital and useable on today's networks, I'd buy one and grab my soldering iron in a heartbeat.
How cool would that be?
Total retro, 90's styling with modern functionality. :D
