I need a truthful/honest opinion.

I personally couldn't immagine trying to mod (because ya damn near have to) 3 Marks, plus keep up with maintainance on 3. The 93 is cool, but being an OBD1 would make it the odd ball out

You gonna LSC the BoB with moldings and bumpers?

Make the 93 stock give it to the wife and slowly fix the bob.
Or give her the pt and wash and clean it for her as needed.

I'm with thas option. Wouldn't hurt her to stop on the way home every once in a while and use a high pressure hose and at least keep it sprayed off, unless you live in a dangerous part of Miami. Just think, there would be no black on black in the driveway if you hadn't followed the old lady to begin with... "that's her car.....

Does your wife have any hobbies?

Sell the 93, and the Cordovan, and I'll put you in touch with someone selling another 97 Black on Black. This way you both will be happy.

after much thought and discussion with a few friends of which he was my old 5.0 buddy back in the day, built a nice 88 ragtop, and found a 90 t top his wife fell in love with his 88 so he gave it to her and dumped a ton in to the lx which is now a low 10 sec. streetable ride. anyways, we came to the conclusion that if she really wants the 97, do #2 and/or sell the 93(sorry but you'll have to sell it asis to get any real $ out of it, if you strip it for the rims, etc it wont have the same appeal) you can always find another black on black gen 2 out there and do it up because b on b look "sporty" almost on their own. anyways even if you did that it would kill you to see the 97 sitting in the driveway with all that bird $hit on it!in the end you have to live with her, plus it will give you a little future leverage if you let her have it.

Dump the 93 as is, spend the money to get her a daily driver mid size suv. Save up to hook up the 97. The mother of your (future or existing) children is happy, you have a nice go out car, and a project to fiddle around with in the garage.

Being completely honest, I think you need to keep whichever car you truly want and sell off the others. Your 93 is kind of like my 94 in that it still looks really nice but it is an old car. I make sure I keep it nice looking so that it doesn't seem to show its age. The moment it starts getting scratches and dings in it, its just a PoS 19 year old car. What I am getting at is the car's looks is what is going to bring it good money if you sell it while it is still nice. So I would sell it while its value is at its peak.

The PT car is nice, but I think you need to compromise here. I would sell it and use the money to find something for your wife. I would not let her drive a car that I loved, because it would make my heart ache any time something happened to it. I bought my wife an explorer and took the Mark back because I couldnt stand to see her neglecting it. Now all I have to do is vacuum out and wash the explorer every once in a while. I would sell the PT while it is still in the best shape, yielding you the most money. Use the money from the sale of both cars and buy her something else to drive. Something you have no attachment to whatsoever.

My wife gets home this afternoon in my 93 & she shows me 2 FOR SALE signs she taped on the car! I ofcourse FLIPPED OUT! Yes, the plan was/is to sell my 93 to obtain the cash to prep & paint the black 97 but there are things I want to transfer from one car to the other before selling the car including my CobraStar logo's, wheels & exhaust. My wife immediately tells me I better not dare ruin the black 97 by making it "sporty".
She has no car so she wants to have it for herself. She wants it as classy as the prairie tan & she said its going to be HER car!

So here's the couple questions I need to ask my fellow Mark buddies. (Please be honest, save the sarcasm for other threads)

#1. Am I being selfish? I know she deserves a car, she's a great woman but I've wanted a black/black Gen II since I've owned my Mark. My plan was for her to drive the black/black but I at least wanted to install the exhaust, wheels, CobraStar logos & gauges on the car.

#2. Should I keep my 93 & EVER-SO-SLOWLY save up to paint the black 97 for my wife? This way everyone is happy?

#3. Another option is to find someone willing to trade their small SUV/blazer/Jimmy/Explorer for my 93 Mark. She likes mid size SUV's

I'm not a spoiled person but for the last 10 years or so I've always had a toy, whether its a boat, waverunner or sport's car. I don't consider my prairie tan a toy. It's our "fancy lookin" going out car. I think I'm being selfish & want the best of both worlds. Maybe it's just me.

Any ideas?

His and Her's Mark 8's. Man, that is soooo foriegn to me:rolleyes:

My wife and I don't fight about cars. She buys what she wants, I buy what I want.

It's not worth the argument.

And to hell with what ever her family has to say. I've been in pretty heated arguments with her dad over buisness minding.

He does'nt come around any more.

Mike

I see everyone has different opinions. I guess in the end I will sit down with my wife, discuss the best option & go from there. My ideal situation would be to sell the 93, buy her an SUV & do as I please with both 97's. Let's see how things turn out but some of you are right. No matter what Mark VIII she drives, it will drive me insane when she takes them because I know how she will treat either one.

Side note what ever happened to your truck?

My truck gets driven about 500 miles p/week. I beat it to sh!t Mon - Fri so I don't touch it after I get home from work nor on weekends.

You gonna LSC the BoB with moldings and bumpers?

Yeah, I have the LSC moldings & all trim will go black as well. I also have an LSC neon that I just bought from a fellow member but I'm not too happy with it. I threw $175.00 away on a neon lamp lens that is cracked & all the lettering has started peeling everywhere. I need to find another neon lamp.

hard decision buddy.....I would sell that 93 its a headache and it needs tons of work. Sell it and invest in the cash in the black/black. If I was you id hook up the prairie tan...just keep the extra parts just incase you want to put it back to stock.

gen 1 v/s gen2

I dreamed of a gen 2 for 3 years - settled on a gen 1 - im satisfied with the gen 1- if you already have the gen 1 fixed up give her the gen 2 - keep on keepin on.
