Just got my control arms from SCP today!!!! He shipped them fast too, i called him yesterday at 2PM and i got them today at 3PM. Now i need the strut rod bushings and sway bar end links and i can install them. Lets hope the clunking goes away after this.

Just read on the sealed packages the uppers and lowers are made in tawian.

I hope those aren't zerk fittings in the plastic bags for the ball joints. :(

Wow that was fast! Mine went out yesterday and delivery is supposed to be the 15th.

Bummer about them being taiwan parts. :(

EDIT: DLF, why?

The stock, or any good aftermarket ball joints are teflon lined, and sealed. IMHO, joints that need a zerk fitting are junk.....

Yep.....Moog FTMFW.

Anything else....who knows how long it will last.

Its a job you want to do ONCE.

Three year warranty what a :q:q:q:qin joke.

Sorry....rock auto, Moog for me.
SPC, won't tell you what brand they are WTF is that

WTF

Bill call up SPC and tell them thanks but no thanks.

Meh, they are on their way. If they fail I will get a refund from him and buy Moogs. I dont think there will be an issue. So what if every couple oil changes I have to check the grease. The uppers are sealed.

Yup there Zerks fittings. I dont give two sh*ts right now my upper ball joint on the drivers side is getting ready to fall out. I cant afford to be spending 200.00 + on 1 control arm. Chances are this car wont be around when they do go bad anyways.

Just checked over my Moog/TRW uppers/lowers/links.

The upper arms and the front sway bar end links do have those zerk fittings, but the lower arms do not.

I picked up TRW uppers for $75 per @ partsamerica.com, but I think they went out of business or changed their name after advanced sold them off.

You can get Moog T-Bird LCA's @ Rock Auto for ~$60 (after the 5% discount).

Thats nice, ive bought these and im happy with them. As said before they will last longer than the car will anyways. Im looking to get another Mark 8 after i gut this one to build my 68.

those taiwan uppers are garbage, i bought them too once off ebay thinking i'll save some money, the factory trw/moog upper control arms have articulating bushings in the ends that bolt to the strut tower, the taiwan ones have bushings pressed into the ends that do not move, so as you drive your mark, and the suspension moves up and down, you are slowly bending the upper control arms, if it doesnt make sense what i am saying, keep driving on them, you'll see, in a few weeks your front tires will show you what i am talking about! never, ever, ever buy front suspension parts for a mark VIII unless they say TRW/MOOG on them.

They just have to last till Sept, then the cars getting gutted. The lowers were the only ones that said Made in Taiwan but id say the uppers are too. Oh well hes got a 3 year warranty on them.

i bought motorcraft uppers from rockauto couple of months ago for a T-Bird, thinking they would have no grease fittings like the moogs............

and they have fittings

Jaime, you remember those upper control arms and lower BJs your buddy had put on my 94? I'm already looking for replacements because they are creaking and the boots are all torn.... OE brand for the LOSE! How long ago was that? 3 years?

Sounds like no matter what brand you buy someone always thinks there sh*t.

welcome to lvc!

i am in the process of drilling my upper ball joints to install zerks.

i'd much rather have a "servicable" ball joint that has a zerk than a disposable non-zerk ball joint.

The upper is a low stress joint. I would not worry about them falling out. I am sure if can happen but they are more a guide than a critical part.

Either way you will have new. Just make sure your not riding with a lowered stance on those parts are you will probably be fine. If you are lowered, bump it back up or they will bend.

1.5 inch lowerd coil suspention, not riding on air ride. Like i said before, im doing the work so thats free, theres a 3 year warranty on the upper and lowers and on top of that this time next year this car will be no longer!!!

Um, you keep brining up the warranty like its a protection plan. What happens when one snaps and the tire takes out the fender!

Warranty means nothing!!
