Ok guys, income tax came in, I have a couple hundred bucks to spend on much needed Mark VIII maintenance. MY car still has the original spark plug wires, I definitely want to swap those out including the plugs as well. Which would you recommend? By the way, I'm not ordering online because I need to do this by this weekend. MUST be local brand sold at auto parts stores or local performance shops. Any help would be greatly appreciated!;)

NOTE: Everyone has diferrent opinions & their reasons behind it, I want to hear them all. In the end I'd like to go with something solid, a bit more on the performance side, better than OEM!

Copper if you replace them often, Wires - This is a debate, i went with the FFRP Cobra 8mm. I'de say stock until the guy tuning your ca says, its not doing the job anymore! :-) Screamin Demon is nice setup.

I have always run msd super conductor wires that are also 8.5mm and run about the same cost as the frpp wires. for plugs i run autolite 764's gapped to 0.54 Make you sure you gap the new plugs. I just did the CE a few months back and the new plugs ranged 0.010 in gap. this setup will run you right around 125is i believe. I have always used this setup in on my gen 1's (for the past 7 years) and have never had any issued. I got the plugs from rockauto and the wires from summit.

i'm happy with my 764's. just so you know the copper 764's only last 30-40k...the single tip platnums last much longer..copper will give ya alittle more perf from what i hear...i dont have wires so i cant give you my .02. on that.

I'm using Motorcraft plugs, and Vision wires 10.2mm, they are blu wires but also come in red...car is running awesome with them
pics and link to buy on my rebuild thread

I'm using 10.4mm Taylor ThunderVolt50 wires.
They are black, thick, and have been reliable on the past few cars I've used them on.
Lost the pics on my old HDD though, I'll have to take some more...

Some may laugh but Autolite 764's gapped at .054 and Duralast wires with lifetime warranty. I have never had a problem with using these wires, in the past with the 94. I just bought them for the 95. I doubt I'll have any problem with them in there either. When you have complete stock like I have, I would have to see something from a dyno sheet that shows me a performance difference from 8mm to 10.0mm or bigger. If there is a difference, just how big is it and does the cost justify it? I drive, I don't race and I run nothing but 93 octane and Mobile 1 fully synthetic oil. Not one problem here.

I stomp my car from a dead stop and it screams. I idle my car and it's smooth without a miss at all.

8-10mm+ jacket does nothing for performance really, it's more for less rfi, efi, protection, and looks, unless the core is actually bigger too, but the gains would still be minimal, especially on a stock engine...

My 93 came with FRPP wires, one went bad so I threw in a set of Duralasts that had been on my old 94 and haven't had problems in 3 years or so. I run Autolite 103s, when I was running nitrous I used Autolite AR94s (another step colder.)

After ordering Sapperfires wires and playing with them I would reccomend them for first gen owners. They are only $70 shipped and came really really fast. They are 10.2mm and thats core measurment, not jacket measurment.

As for plugs, as long as they are copper and not champions you are fine. Everyone has a prefrence and everyone has a horrer story of a different brand.
I have basik NGK coppers in mine. I will prolly put Motorcraft in when I install the blower.

Ya know, this is kinda like the alternator debate... OEM w/no warranty vs aftermarket w/lifetime warranty. And I think I'm again on the lifetime warranty side of the fence since I never have to pay for wires again.

+1 there dude! You've got a very good point. Nothing better than having a good cushion in the event that you fall down! :) However some will debate that with aftermarket you may fall down harder!

If you gap your copper plugs a little under (0.048), they will last a few thousand miles longer.

10.2mm is almost 1/2". Should be the OD of the jacket.
