UltimateSVT's black on black '97 SLOOOWWW progress thread

Ladies... Here's a sneak peak! I will be taking some sick pictures tomorrow at some point. :D

However, I'm letting you guys know straight out......

THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MARK I'VE EVER OWNED!!!

I just realized... My signature is no longer valid.

Now it's time for a custom interior.

Nah, I decided I'm not going to take this one that far. I sold my '93 with a custom interior for mid $3k. That's certainly money I will never get back when I sell the car! Unless I win the lottery, the car will stay as it sits right now. I actually plan on purchasing a replacement rear window defrost panel to disconnect the white gauges & a replacement driver's side pillar to also take off those gauges. If someone shows up with $7,000 cash I will let it go as is, wheels & all! (Can you tell I don't want to sell the car?) If you guys remember one of my old threads, I mention I have the wife driving my truck. She's been wanting a 4dr. I actually plan on posting in on Autotrader in a couple weeks. It's a gorgeous car with 65,800 original miles but I have 3 cars to my taste. I have to be a little selfless. I've seen Marks sell close to 7k on autotrader & ebay with 100k miles on them...

As I have already stated on the book of face, looking good Alex!! :D

Dem dere wheelz must've been talking crap about you too because they have a nice fat lip. :p

Beautiful beautiful Beautiful.

We'll need better pics today though. ;)

Wow looks damn good from those sneek peek pics you posted..really want to see that color in the sun! If I were you I'd park that thing under a covered area for a few months till the paint cures all the way..or till you can get some wax on it..I'd hate to see bird sh*t or water marks ruin that nice paint!

Makes your sticker peck up don't it??? :D:D:D

Ok guys, I dedicated the morning to my fellow members on LVC. I took a few pictures & a video as well. I thought the video would help you guys better understand the reason I chose this color but the quality simply doesn't show it.

Ford LL blue is a very, very deep blue. It basically turns to black at night but during the day it's black, dark blue or under the direct sun light it turns a deep purple/deep blue. Only a couple members on here will see the car in person in a couple weeks & will understand what I mean. It resembles the mid 90's Mystic color used on the Mustang Cobra. This blue is much more calm, no greens or tortoise show. Just dark blues & purples. This is the color on the top portion of my F-150 so I've been enjoying this color for the last 11 years on my truck. Ford ran this color from 1997 - 2003 on quite a few models including the Ranger, Crown Vic, the Escort & The F-150.

It is absolutely the most beautiful Mark VIII I've owned. I DO NOT regret selling my black '93. I DO NOT regret selling any other Mark I've owned. This was all worth it. I'm OFFICIALLY debating which Mark to sell. This Mark has 65,800 miles on it & my tan Mark has 77,000 miles on it. They both ride amazing & I want the best of both worlds! lol...

Anyway, I still need to paint the rear window trim & the wiper cowl all because my stepfather ruined those a couple months ago. I also need to remove the rear neon so I can clean under there. You can see the milky water from the sanding running down behind the neon towards the end of the video. I also need to fix the neon in hopes that it adjusts closer to the body of the trunk & I have yet to wash the exhaust tips as well. They were covered correctly every time the car was worked on but obviously to sand the clearcoat & wash the car everything was exposed. The interior is disgusting as well. Being that it's black, all the dust from the shop is everywhere. I have a few long days ahead but I consider them fun because I LOVE MY CAR! :)

Anyway, here are the pictures & the video. ENJOY!

:)
