Trump vetoes bipartisan bill to provide clean water to rural Southeastern Colorado

A plan to help local communities pay their share of the long-sought Arkansas River Valley conduit passed Congress with strong bipartisan support, but has still come up one vital signature short of becoming a reality.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday vetoed the “Finish the Arkansas Valley Conduit Act” despite its sponsorship by fellow Republicans and the significant benefits it would provide to southeastern Colorado, where his support runs deep. The conduit, which broke ground in 2023, will provide clean water for farming, factories and households.

While Colorado intelligently voted for Harris in 2024, Southeast Colorado was and still is deep red Trump country. So they voted to keep drinking their high salt and irradiated water. Well played SE Colorado, poisoning yourselves to "own the libs".

Trump ran on an "America first, no more US interventionism, no more foreign wars" platform and Trumpers (rightfully) cheered. Now that Trump has declared war on Venezuela by attacking the country, killing people and abducting the Venezuelan president and his wife, Trumpers are cheering. They will cheer whatever Trump does.

This attack is for two main reasons, 1) A distraction from Trump's shitshow, and 2) Oil, oil, oil. Trump will be getting a kickback, as he does nothing for free.
