taking the 97 on another long trip!

well, she did fine coming back to florida from connecticut, except the blizzard we got stuck in, and losing the p.s return line. at the ass crack of dawn friday i am tossin the wife and kids in the 97 and shooting down to the keys for the weekend. it's our wedding anniversary saturday so i figured a trip for us somewhere kick ass is long long over due. i'm most likely gonna drive straight to key west and stay friday and saturday night and come home sunday. its gonna take me about 6 hours to get to key largo, and 9 hours to get to key west. i'm gonna splurge and stay somewhere nice. somewhere with a pool and nice view off the balcony, i just want to get away and enjoy it. sun, drinks, food and that gorgeous blue water, with the occasional tar ball lol. gonna be a good time. hey you phags in miami look out on the interstate around 10 am you might see a black flash go by!!!

Jamie, when was the last time you went down there? The road has changed drastically. Anyway, if you are looking for relaxation with the family, Key West isn't really the place. Key West is more of a party place. You should stay in Islamorada. It's only another 20 minutes from Key Largo. I own 2 weeks time share there at a place called Matecumbe Resort in lower Matecumbe Key on mile marker 76 (left hand side/Ocean side). I was just there 2 weeks ago & I may go next Saturday for the day again. Visit www.matecumbekeys.com for pictures & info.
You have Outback Steakhouse just minutes away, Islamorada Fish Company <-Amazing food & Bass Pro Shops just 4 miles from the resort, the world famous TikiBar just 6 miles North of the resort together with the Theater of the Sea (Islamorada Aquarium) next door, you have Hog Heaven 8 miles North as well.
