So a few days ago I finally began working on the car with installing the sound system and other minor things.
What am I going to do? I'm going to lay down sound deadening material and also install a stereo system containing of:
DLS Nordica 6.2 front speaker system driven by a DLS Ultimate A3 amp. And in the trunk there will be a JL 12w7 driven by a DLS Ultimate A6 amp.

Today I also bought a Kenwood DDX3021 headunit and got it in place.

Time for some pictures, first of the car itself.

And lets tear it apart! Sorry for the crappy pics, cellphone, sold the DSLR to afford the sound system

And lets cut, much better!

For future reference if anyone needs it, how I connected my wires.

Love working on american cars, the interior is always so easy to take apart :D

That's it for now! Still waiting for my package with Silent Coat to arrive :)
Will continue working on it tomorrow if the weather allows me (garage is occupied by dads Cobra and his 93 Mark Viii he's installing sound in ^^ )

Yeah I'm using it for a daily driver now when my Mark is undrivable (I refuse to park my T-bird at any car park, I'd kill for a dent on that car).
It's really fun but the focus has to be on the car at all times because it's so unpredictable :D But it's super fun.

It's pretty much flush with the console. That was just a test fit. I don't have it in the car right now because I have some other things to to so I'm waiting with mounting it permanently.

Gotchya!! Looks like you're taking your time and installing the right way and I'm assuming a complete rewire of the entire system. Nothing beats all new wiring and letting the factory wiring lay unused. BTW, your phone pics are not bad at all. Have seen much worse and I don't mean that in such a way that yours even look like cellphone pics. Yours look like a normal digital camera was used to take the pics. Keep us posted with those pics because we all love pics :p ..... as you make progress. Looking good so far.

Yeah, I trying to get it done as good as I possibly can.
The headunit itself will not be attached by the "cage" (or what ever it's called) that comes with it because it's just way too big. It's absolutley ridicilous how big they've made it, with spacer of 1/4 inch both on top AND bottom to get the stereo itself to even fit in the cage. It's stupid how big it is. I'd have to remove all of the wood trim both above and underneath the stereo just to get that thing to fit. No way I'm doing that.
So I just grinded enough so I have to press the stereo in with force and it's weight is on a bracket that goes underneath. Gonna secure it to the bracket with some DIY methods and I'm good to roll. Best way to do it when the mounting bracket that comes with it is just stupidly big.
The wiring will all be redone except for what I showed in the last picture which is the grounding (black to the right), power wire (yellow) and the ignition wire (red, starts the stereo when ignition is on). The last one (blue/white to black, left) is my remote.

If at all possible for you and I don't see why it's not, try to ground the HU directly to the solid steel behind it, not to the harness. There is a lot of wire in that ground from the harness to the other end and the shorter the ground, the better. I never use the harness black ground at all. I ground directly behind the HU. Sand away that rust look back there in a spot and use a hole that is already back there. Put a solid copper or w/e round terminal on the end of the wire and either use a screw that's a tad bigger than the hole or a small bolt, washer and nut. Usually will eliminate any and all engine noise if it were to occur.

Stangman: Its's the nickname for the car :D Not because of its condition but because of how it looks :D Im slowly starting to like the looks of it. But I first bought it only for its performance and comfort

NoLimit95: Great advice! I will redo the grounding tomorrow then :D Thanks for the tip :)

Poor Stangman has the ugly duckling here...man if I was rich, I'd pay someone to paint both our rides

But im not, so boohoo

loks like the head unit fit with minor modifications, no issues?override the park function to watch while moving?

Not a single issue with it. Took som measurements with the eye and ut the hole abit, som grinding and it's a tight and perfect sqieeze. Quite hard to get it in so thats good, wont be attacking me during hard acceleration ;) As I said, the mounting cage thingy was stupidly big so theres no way that could fit in there but this I made is hopefully rattle free :) Can't eait to get home from work and continue on the car :D

Does the stereo have a park position for when watching movies? :o If so I really need to override that :D

The question us swdes always get :D Answer is: Not all, not many but a few. Ofcourse theres girls the size and weight of a freight train but yes, theres a few hot girs here

I didn't see anything insanely hot...not one of those chicks was holding a Sammich

there are a bunch of hot sweedish girls here in ft.lauderdale, they are all nannies. they come here as students or advertise from there for an american sponsor. used to meet them all the time at beach place. its a mall on the beach with bars/clubs, etc. they love to drink.:Beer:D
i dont know about your stereo it should be in the book but all the factory ones come with a park safety function.
