Been kicking the idea around of doing some stereo work to my car. Wanted to see if anyone might post up pictures of sub mounting and whatnot. I would love to angle a sub in each rear corner of the trunk towards the cabin, not sure if it's doable. Thanks guys, this is just for brain storming and whatnot.

Anything is doable if you want to involve fiberglass work for the odd mounting you're looking for. Seems like I have a pic somewhere of an LS or Mark system in the trunk that was bad ass. I'll look for it and post when found. Do you still need that center cap?

The build is far from complete, just a mock up for break in. I plan on putting some speaker cloth over the rear deck lid to hide the cut-out. Also plan on building an amp rack that will seal off the trunk from the cabin on the trunk side of the box.

Quentin, myself and 1 other member here have done the rear deck "blowthrough" aswell. I carpeted mine and it looks dam good. Mine are sealed though and i'm only running 12's so my hole is much smaller, prob 36x12" hole on the metal and a 22"x12" hole in the panel. Cut the metal before i realized 3 12's weren't going to fit so that explains the diff size cuts.

1st rule of fabrication is to measure twice..cut once

I still have to finish the Amp rack, and gotta make a smaller box for the MTX, one day itll be fiberglassed...but that's waaaaay down the road

Well 3 10's will be going in one of these days so it's not for nothing.:)

And I prob exagerated a little. Prob closer to 32x12 and 24x12...Hard to tell while not looking at it.

is it a 2nd gen? isnt the compass in a 2nd gen somewhere else? do 2nd gens even have that rear tray? i've never looked...

It's a Gen1 and you can move the compass anywhere...just can't be near the magnets
2nd Gen compasses are mounted under the rear view mirror , and yes they have the factory amp tray under the back dash

I mounted all the stuff from the rack in the right side quarter panel. Didn't have to extend any wires. The hole I cut is 36" x 19", I cut it as deep as possible to give room for the 15's. I'm really happy with the sound quality and the loudness of it (though I havnt put it on term lab yet). I originally had 2 12" alpine type r's but they just didn't cut it for me. The 15's that audio q made me absolutely blow my mind.

your better off facing speakers to rear of trunk henceforth using the whole trunk as an enclosure, i used 2 kicker 12 with 800rms in a sealed box and still have almost all of my trunk incuding spare tire well
