The SSHS11 web site is now open for registration!

For the 11th year, this is the only place to see the best 4000+ pound cars on the planet! :) There will be 1/4 mile bracket racing, heads up racing, and a car show! See you there!

SSHS11 will be held at Atlanta Dragway on Saturday, November 5th, 2011. It is located in Commerce, GA, about an hour north of downtown Atlanta on I-85.

Yes, 4000 pounds with driver. Marks usually hit the scale over 4000 pounds with a full tank of fuel and driver. :)

i was referring to curb on registration 3765lbs. as opposed to the mustang at 3400, new camaro is 3700 as weight comparison to overcome, our mk viii's are not that much heavier .

A little over a week to go racing! :)

The Mark is at Injected Engineering right now for a oil change, mix in some coolant with the water in the radiator, and on the dyno to make sure the numbers look good, and maybe dial in some extra hp for the racing season!

See you at the track! :)

Mike, a totally off-topic question. I LOVE that lock-up schedule in your video. LOL I have dealt with early lock-up for a long time on my fail chip tune. The car will see the dyno before the spring. My lock-up occurs around 80mph which is WAY too early. Should I have it lock at 95+ or is that a question you really can't answer. Yours locking at 105+ is pretty crazy, but it seems your car responds very well that way. Also is your converter unlocked in second gear also?? Sorry for the off-topic question. And I know you're boosted and that makes a difference. :D

Thanks, Kirk! The Mark responds very well to tc lock-up in the upper rpm's.

I have a second gear and third gear tc lock-up in the car now, and it has proven better et & mph in the 1/8th mile than the third gear only lock-up that you see in the video. lol Mostly because I am almost at the finish line going into third on a 1/8th mile track and there is no time to lock-up in 3rd. :)

I will probably try both lock-up schedules at SSHS11 during T&T, and go from there. The 2nd & 3rd gear lock-up has not been tested in the 1/4, so I do not know what to expect.

I really can't say what is best for your car. My opinion, your time slips are your best gauge. I suggest when you get your tune, have your tuner load a couple different lock-up schedules to your xcal and go from there. That is what I have been doing for the past few years.

Thinking about going to Silver Dollar Raceway - Reynolds, GA tomorrow for some test & tune. Anyone interested in going, let me know.

Saturday:
Test and Tune for $25. Super Street Series Race. "Run What Ya Brung" car show and nostalgia drag racing.
Gates open at 1:00 PM. Track time begins at 2:00. Spectator admission is $10.

Ill just strap a bunch of empty 55 gallon barrels to it and throw a prop on the back of the driveshaft.

And then when it runs out of gas you can just put the top partially up and sail away!

Oh boy. I just picked up The Mark from Injected Engineering. I don't know what Aric did on that dyno, but I have a new problem!

The Mark from a first gear roll now just melts the drag radials and goes sideways all through first.

I don't know what numbers it made, but it sure did not behave like this before it went on the dyno. It just hooked and off I went.

Wow, I had a great time! :) The Mark was a MONSTER all day long, and kept going faster with each run. lol I was getting concerned I might get the boot for no roll bar. A red light ended my chance for a class D victory, but I was very happy The Mark came home in one piece, and bested it's best time twice in one day!

Congratulations to JP, for his awesome runner up class C performance representing Mark VIII's!

Here's a video of The Mark going a little to fast and breaking out, but making a record run personal best! More photo's and videos to come! :)

If you remember Mike, from a couple years back at the SSHS, you can do 2 sub 11.50 runs before you get the boot. As long as the last one is the finals, you're golden. ;)

Your car is a dream car for most at the track, luxury and performance! :)

Breaking out. Ahhh, what a bittersweet thing when you run a new best.

I agree with driller. I lust after your car constantly Mike. I am considering big plans for my Mark once I hit low 13s NA. :)
