I have been extreamly busy so far since it turned nice out. Haven't had time to post up all the stuff I have been up to so far. Time to fix that now.

First, I (with the help of dad) redrilled my front struts just over .5" lower and while we were doing that I finally (after 5 years of owning the car) decided to sensor lower it.

Over the Winter I got the rest of the stuff I needed to install my 3.73 gears and have finally got my spare pumpkin set up and will be installing it next week.

The list of things that I would like to get accomplished before the upcoming Beach party is:

1. Install rear end
2. Install blend door
3. Find/fix vacuum leak
4. Install short throw

Well the Beach party is next week and I only managed to get one of the items on the list done.

The pumpkin install was finished this weekend and I just got back from the first drive and I found that while it is definitely quicker it has magnified a old problem.

When I swapped trans the car had a tendency to wheel hop real bad when launching. Now it is ten times worse.

Guess it's time to start looking into some new bushings :D

Looks good but getting 3.73's is like getting a hand job instead of getting it in (4.30's) if you get my drift.

I drive too much highway for that crap. Plus with the 5spd and the eventual plans 4.30's would be way to much.

better than getting a bottle of hand lotion and a box of tissues that the original 3:08s/3:27s offer...

These motors need that type of gear for any type of performance application. 4.30's would be perfect for the street with the 5 speed. 4.56's for the track.

My 2 cents... I never met anyone who put 3.73's in a 4.6 DOHC who didn't wish they went with a lower gear.

Or a Mark VIII that plans on going Forced induction and likes to take long road trips?

How would that even be streetable with 4:30 gear and a 5 speed, youd be immediately shifting into 2nd gear from a stop..the first 2 gears are pretty much useless with that short of a gear in a street car

Don't you guys go fast? I take my projects to the strip to see what they will do. I do not tune my drivers for the drag strip. I live in the country, pretty well all highway usage and all my races start at around 80 mph.

My last car was designed to humiliate 5 liter Fords and dumped all 580 ft/lbs at about 75 mph when jammed into second. They usually gave up right away.

This Mark does 220 Km/h no problem and I expect to be able to do 240+ with a little more work. So 150 mph is just fine ... for now.

So what do I need for 160, are the Marks stable up there? My Cutlass became airborne around 150 or so.

Ya never know when you might need to beat up on a Porsche.
