Sapperfires car is up for sale!

Yeah and it has the cam and crank postitioning tool as well as the secondary tensioner tool! Cant believe I never found this kit before. Have to have it! Have to have it! Have to have it!

If I pimp myself out to 10 fat chicks I bet I can afford one!

I LOVE THIS FORUM!!!!!!!!!

I had to find out how this conversation came about... Had to be Laser!!! :D

Ironically the guy that used to own my car had a sticker on each 1/4 window that stated:

"FAT CHICKS NOT ALLOWED"

Well things went from bad to much much worse. Sapper brought the car by to fix a coolant leak from one of the heater hoses. Where it goes into the head the o-ring rolled and didnt seal. He figured that was the cause of the overheating, I wasnt so sure.

Reading the plugs I saw that number 7 was just not fireing. Had spark and fuel but no boom, had to be stuck valve or crack in the block/head. Number 8 was running very hot and showed signs of detonation.

But wait! Things get better (worse). I noticed that two exhaust manifold studs were leaking water with a tinge of oil. And yes, coming out the exhaust stud. Cracked head is my guess.

So we patched it together and let it idle forever and it stayed around 160*. Sent him on his way and it overheats. Cool it down and fill it up and then it has a loud clatter/knock and no longer runs. :(

Thats it, its dead. Its being towed home as I type this. This is a bad blow and there is nothing we can do about it. If I could get him a motor I would but I am broker then he is right now. Not sure what the game plan is right now. A car is a must with two small children and both parents working. Might have to dump the car and buy a beater or maybe I will just do without for a bit and loan him mine. Just not sure.

I hate his car.

That sux. If I still had the orginal motor from my Mach1, I would give it Sapp. I am going to Brownsville next week and I could have dropped it off on the way.

Yeah, locating one isnt the issue. THERE IS NO MONEY TO BUY ONE! Nothing can be done to change that in the imediate future. He has to wait till tax season to do anything of worth.

Laser and Sapp, I don't personally know you guys, but from what I've read on here you guys seem like good hard working guys. I'll offer you a car to drive as long as you need it. It's a black on black 96 LSC with a 107,000 miles on it. I've personally driven the car to Fayetteville, N.C. and back 17 hours away. Drove straight through both ways. No problems at all. New brakes front and rear, upper control arms, etc. etc. Everything works on the car except the heater core is bypassed. Haven't taken the time to fix it. I got other cars to drive. It's one of 2 that are actually titled, tagged and insured in my name. All of my other Mark VIII's get driven on a D-tag. The car is just sitting at Go Fast Get Tickets house right now. The point is if you can do without heat and we can figure out how to get it there, your welcome to drive it. I live in K.C. probably a good 8 hours away and I just can't take time off of work right now.

Thats a killer offer and I will text Sapper but between your distance and just using someones car he dont know.... well I will let him speak for himself. He will prolly hop online when he gets home.

Thank you though for just the offer. Thats why I really dig this community. Good folks all around.

Rodger i have family in the area where they live if its needed I will help out anyway I can
I also don't live very far from Tim either so please if this goes anywhere let me know I'll do what I can
Mike

How about a little collection?? $20,$30,$40 each from enough people can go a long way. If he has a paypal address to send it to, I would be willing to give in. just a thought......:)

I'm real sorry to hear this guys, I'd offer to trade you my known good motor for that bad one since I'm doing a rebuild anyway, but the distance is a deal killer. Let us all know what we can do to help (and Sapp, sell me that grille if fastmark hasn't gotten on it :) )

That is awesome.

Here's another possible solution. GMAN has a car for sale. He's alot closer to you guys. I'll buy GMAN's car, providing he lowers the price, and you can drive it until your situation is better. We need to get Greg involved and make sure the car is dependable. I have to get back to work, but will be back on here tonight.

Wow and wow guys. Sapper had to borrow a Neon to make it to Austin this week for job training so he dont know about any of this and he may not be on for a few days. I am doing everything I can to find a soulution and hopefully have one by the time he comes back on x-mas eve. Thanks for all the help and ideas. I am just blown away with the kindness.

I called and its a tested and known good motor. Thats hella low miles too but the motor is $600 and may as well be $6000. The local yard has another one from a gen2 for $150 but its untested and is known to have water in its oil pan so I dont think we will even try for that one.

I was just thinking the same as Chargerxr. Gman jump in and let us know all about the car and maybe we can do something here. Anyone else close have a good motor around we just need to come up with as many solutions to this problem.

Sapper is family here and I think we can give him and his family a good Christmas even if it is just reliable transport.

I may have a motor here in KC it may be free I'm not sure yet I have to talk to the owner tonite and I'll let you know. Maybe we can get a colection together for shipping if it works out. I know it's a good motor I drove the car to where it sits today and it has gobs of power the down side is it has 203K but it runs like it has 100K. I'll talk to him tonite and find out.

I am down for the cause. I got Mark's coming out of my ear. I'll drop the price down. This is the car I was going to paint blue and sell it, but if it is to get Sapp back on the road, I am all for it.

GMAN, we are getting close to having the cash for the motor you posted. We are a good 3/4 of the way there and members have come through in a big way with loans and donations.
Pretty sure he can get a truck to get it here too. People on here have come through in such a way... really is amazing the people we have here. *tear*

Ok, well let me know. Roger (Chargerxr) and I just talked on the phone. He's willing to give me $600 for my Aquamarine 93, and you and Jeremy can come down and get it. All that would need to be done is just swap over your good parts from Jeremy's car onto this one, and you'll be on the way. No hasseling with another motor swap.

Yeah and with what charger said it may be a wise move cause with money transfers and mail it will be next week before the funds are cleared to get the motor and then he needs time off from work to tow the car back here and for us to swap it again.

He planned on getting a second Mark for the wife come tax season anyway. I am gonna check out your threads now to see the car agaian. Does it need anything other then an alt to drive it home?

To all of the people here on LVC you are the best. I am honored to be welcomed into this family.

The LVC family Rocks like no other, i wish that i could help with this project my job doesn't pay like i want which is a Major Bummer.
