Hey guys,

Not sure if this has ever been done here before, but just like the title states...

Not to clutter up your thread Dan but it could be argued that retaining the stock Mark VIII rear caliper is actually worse for braking performance if you have upgraded the fronts to something with less piston area than the stockers, like Cobras. This actually decreases the amount of rear bias as far as the caliper is concerned. Increasing rotor size helps make up for it, but not enough. In order to maintain a factory like bias you would want to decrease the rear caliper area by the same amount.

I'll play.......

Has:
Hub Swap
18" Saleen Rims
150 NOS kit
Diablo Chip
3.73 gears
2800 Stall

03 Cobra Heads
Eaton or S Trim (have both just trying to decide which)
Pioneer Double DINN
Kenwood Amps JL Components and 1 12" Phoenix Gold Sub

On my wish list:
Rebuilt 4R70W (nothing wrong with this one, but there will be ;) )

future mods

Lobird, that is very insightful! I hadn't thought of that... The front calipers will travel a given distance with the pedal applied. If the rear piston is larger, it will take more fluid to move the larger piston, compared to the fronts. Meaning, the rear piston will travel less, causing less brake power in the rear. I hadn't thought of that... Hmmm.

I'll have to do the math on the combined piston area for the front stick caliper and the cobra calipers.

Stu - do you have any more information on your front seats, or maybe just some pics?

Cobra intake
4.30s
3800 stall
Kooks headers
JMOD
dyno tune
poly diff. bushing
poly crossmember bushings
4" Dynotech driveshaft
Tokico shocks up front
Koni sports out back
Sitting on SC T-bird springs

What I would like to add:

Focus Green Top fuel pump
Low-drag water pump
Single blade Accufab throttle body
IMRC deletes
March underdrive pullies
re-tuned on the dyno with more fuel taken out and lower shift points (7100rpm is too high )
And of course, a very low 13 second timeslip

I will get there in time if the motor doesn't blow before then but as a daily driver, I did pretty good this last year only putting 10K on the car.

I won't even get into the other car at this point. I think that list is much longer.

LSC lenses with vvme hid kit 4300k bulbs
LSC bumpers and trim
Tokico thunderbird springs (1.25" drop) and shocks
DLF perches
18x9 Cobra Rs 245/45/18s all around
35% side tint, 20% rear on new back window
'93 W3Z2 computer

Realistic future mods:
2.5" true dual exhaust with gutted cats and magnaflow mufflers
Jmod
BOC chip
Hub swap with 96/97 cobra wheels

Done:

Stereo -Pioneer 3200 dvd- 6.5" comps f+r- Type R 12's- a2400db- Big 3 upgrade
Rear sc swaybar
Tint - 20%
Lowered coil kit
6k hid upgrade
Chrome 20 spokes
Removed neon emblems

List would be longer but I've put her back to "stock" over the last 2 years. Well, as close as it will get.

Future:

Maintnence
Maybe a 5 channel

i had thought about it, but dismissed it as insignificant. but i just did some numbers, and its significant. and i always thought my car could use more rear bias... guess that's why.
but enough thread cluttering for now..

Stu - do you have any more information on your front seats, or maybe just some pics?

It was a pain in the ass. it took a lot of test fitting. I welded up a bracket to match the mark viii bolt holes and bolted the cobra seats to the bracket. wiring was not to bad for the drivers seat. I think it was only two or three wires for the cobra seat. passenger side is not electric. I had pics but now I cant find them. I will take more and post them.

• Powdercoated valve covers, billet caps, cobra battery tray, custom fuse box cover, alternator bracket, windshield wiper arms (factory color)
• Cerma-chromed intake, alternator cover, COP covers

• Pioneer DD head unit, Alpine 6x9s, JL 2x10 inclosure, 2 x Kenwood amps, new wiring
• Lincoln Motor Sport mufflers

• Compass delete lol. My stereo rattled it off just like Kirk's did. Doh
• Laser Iridium plugs, new Motorcraft COPs, IAC, TPS, thermostat, temp sender, tranny cooler, 200 Amp alternator
• Red calipers and CobraStars and a few Swarovski crystals here and there due to being a girl. :shifty:
• Cross drilled and slotted rotors with ceramic pads
• Tinted windows
• LED interior and trunk lights
• Sensor lowered... and about a thousand other things that I can't think of right now. It never ends. :D

This weekend:
• Cobra Bilstein rear shocks

Soon:
• Dirty Dog Shift Plate
• Mild tune from Lonnie

Don Pfau, I have a couple questions for you that both boggle my mind about your car. How in the sam hell do you run 11.60s with just an 8 psi pulley and 29# fuel injectors?

I guess I'll take that as a complement? I agree that 29# injectors sounds low. I've never had them out but I was told that is whats in it. Maybe they were wrong. There was a lot of grumbling from the TCCOA members when we meet at Fayetteville and I ran faster then all of them except for there head guru RobertP. They started saying that there had to be more done to it than I said or I was running more boost or something. But what I have listed is all that has been done. I was as shocked as anyone at how fast it is. Heck it is faster than my Cobra was with 14lbs of boost, a tune, lots of suspension work and drag radials ???

Don, I am most definitely not insulting your car. I am just baffled. ;) That is all. Although something about the meth seems to make me wonder. The reason I say that is that Burbank LSC also ran meth, a cheap ass Anderson kit at that, and ran 10s on only 12 psi. My theory is that the meth injection is allowing you to run some VERY aggressive parameters in the tune without the fear of knock or high IATs and of course with no intercooler at play, you are at an advantage somewhat. An intercooler does suck up a bit of power. It would be interesting to see your tune file. On the low end, I would say you have 450rwhp and the skinnies up front and battery re-location certainly does help, but damn your car is quick.

I will be utilizing the meth to its fullest potential on my 97 once I get going with that car. At this point I have decided that unless my setup necessitates the need for an intercooler, I'm not going to use one. There is no need. It's just an extra piece of equipment that may not be a necessary investment. Burbank LSC gives me hope and so do you.
