no florida meet next week details inside

All I can say is: Ever watched overhaulin, or any of those kinda shows? 10 guys damn sure can make a car better all at once. The problem is they have to be knowledgeable at thier task.

I was up at the shop when My Great 8 got his new played out saleens (lol, they do look slick on a white car though) installed and brought Jamie his new trans. We spoke about the whole situation and I really think I can see what Jamie's getting at. Any way around it though, he honestly does regret not being able to figure the meet out despite his car, but he can't just up and ignore all the extra work it is taking him to get things back together in his short amount of time. He doesn't have the extra hours in his schedule to set an extra day of BS'ing with us and doing random stuff aside to put his tools down and not use the time productively. His horsemanure situation just came at a terrible time. Jamie has other people's cars to work on all the time, his car to work on, his (laborous) full time metalworking job, and a family to take care of AND spend time with. All of this, and he has to sleep sometimes! It really is most practical that if his car HAS to be out of order for a repair that he leave it out for a little longer and bang out more than one project on the days he can, or else he won't find the extra time to do the lesser needed tasks at all. Anyway, all of this is opinion or general interpretation, but it's based on talking to Jamie in person, he's alot different as a man than in text.

As usual, nicely put. BTW, thanks for the compliment! On the way home, I only lost one tire and had the driver's air bag decid to leak. After scraping the wheel well three times, Jamie told me to turn off the air ride switch. Made the other 283 miles home safely. Good luck with the surgery Mike. It was nice meeting you in person.

Exactly Mike. I know what Jamie is dealing with right now and he needs to be working on his car because kids are involved. Last I checked, Brandon has no kids and isn't married so he could ride a skate board. What would it matter?

As for the meet, I never was any part of that issue. I can't pay all that gas money to come shoot the sh!t for the day and then drive back too. One man and one car missing from a meet isn't going to hurt anyone and he offered other places to go, even his shop for a while but he doesn't want people all under the car yappin and people standing around in the way. I get what he's saying and he isn't trying to be rude about it. That's just Jamie. A wife and kids and one running car is his situation, including a full time job that only gives him weekends off. School is still in session. Getting your transportation fixed is a little more important than standing around chit chatting and eating hamburgers. He tried to put a nice gesture out there but he didn't know the trans was going to fail when he parked it at work that day. It's all about bad timing.

Wait, you lost a tire as in a flat on one of the rims, or one of those spares we tied on the trailer came off? Glad you got back in one piece, I probably jinxed you by telling you to be careful. Thanks and it was good meeting you guys as well

I'm not commenting on the current topic as far as jamie's position is concerned.

But, I know that modding your only means of transport isn't a good idea anyway you cut it.

3 weeks ago I was fired from my previous job for giving 2weeks notice. 2days later the 95 blew a head gasket, and I was stuck with no job or car.

Luckily I found a 60,000 mile engine for 200 and dad loaned me the money to purchase it. I did the whole swap in my tiny single stall apartment garage over the weekend.

End result is still the same though....car is running, and I'm back to work.

But the main difference here is that I don't air my personal problems on a public forum. My main block of friends here knew what was going on, but there isn't much sense airing bs drama whenever something in life goes wrong. I'm not talking about this thread only either.
