Newbie Mark viii owner

Dude I swear you are half girl. You change your mind more then you change your socks.

When i said I wanted air ride...I didn't say i wanted OEM bags/compressor either did I?

The OEM style are trash, and way too expensive...and even after market kits fail..which leave you stranded..

My Eibachs let air blow thru them all day and all
Night...yet it doesn't sag or strand me..what a miracle!

the OEM stuff lasts like 10 years. its absolutely NO different than other stuff requiring regular maintenance. the system has warnings that let you know when its gonna fail. rarely is it a sudden total failure.

keep up with maintenance and its fine.

some other things that wear out on cars: starters, heater cores, tires, brakes. do you not want those either? a failure of those leaves you stranded as well..

Yes you did say, on many occasions, that you wanted a factory air ride on your car. You said you would PREFER a fast bag system but would be happy with stock air. Every time you got in my Marks you always said the same damn thing. "I wish mine was still on air" and then you would pout...... then we would get pancakes and I was all "nom nom nom"

And how many times have you said, that other than not being able to slam it while parked...that my springs were better

Never once. Dude seriously, what the hell have you been smoking?

Not one time have I ever said I like your springs over an air ride. No. One. Focking. Time.
I said your springs are nice and have good control but never said that they were better in any way shape or form.

Oooooh Lie!

At any rate, he's an airplane tech, he can decide for himself how many parts he wants to install that fail

Newbie to MK VIII

Thanks for the invite, sorry I missed it, will try and hook up with you guys again on chat. Could use some experienced opinions on the tried and true means of tightening this car up. I hear your cries about the bags and get the nostalgia. I have 10 days to have this road ready after sitting in a field for 3 years to go to South Carolina and Boeing. Will keep the air suspension in a box if I later change my mind but coils are not going to fail during this 1k road test. Have read and seen stuff on the 4.6 looking forward to see how it does. Bought a MK VIII shop manual off Ebay, and have front end parts inbound. Today we waited and stared at each other, and yes aircraft and the urge to hit an engineer came to mind when looking at how tight they made the box. Thanks love the feedback and advise. New suspension combined with a good air ride > new suspension with coils. There simply is no comparison. We drive these cars when they are old and forget how good they were with new components.
