New or used fuel pump?

Next weekend I am going to swap my pump out as I think its dying. After 3900 or so car starts pulling ALOT of timing and with the bleed back/cold start issue I may as well do it.
So heres my questions. I have a 255lph pump from the 97 that has about 30K on it and has been in there for almost 2 years. Works perfect, no issues. So do you guys think its worth buying another new one or will that one be fine?

Also some of you know about the fuel pressure issue I have where if the car has been off for a while I need to let the system complete its prime before starting or it takes several seconds to start. On this 97 assembly is that valve that I was told is prolly bad the part I have circled?

stick the used one in, look how long they last, i had 197k on my 97 lsc with the stock pump, never touched, fuel pumps are an uncommon part to die in the mark. i would stick the 255lph pump in it, 2 years old for a pump basically is new!
 
what problem, the problem is in the car now, but the old pump ran perfect in his crashed car, save the money. :q:q:q:q it who am i , i'm just the lvc ass hole do what you want dude!
 
You never had a problem with what you had in the 97 so that should say enough. Why blow money. Hell, I could set here and say "go new" to everything that everyone wants but it's not always the right decision, especially in your case with only a 2 year old pump. That pump should carry you another 10 years or more. What's the worse that can happen if it goes bad? Dropping the tank again?
 
exactly dropping the tank isnt hard everyone make every repair on these things sound like a nitemare dropping the tank is as easy as taking a piss.
 
So I will use the old pump then.

As to my valve question. The one that can bleed off fuel pressure in the lines after the car sits. Is that the part I circled?
 
Reuse the old pump. If your mechanically inclined, the tank pulling isnt hard...

dont cry to me about the south i took over 900 marks apart in massachusetts from 1999 until 2003 you get no pitty from me. i was the smart one and moved. i had my share of rust and i still did it with ease. go change your pampers.
 
And the tank pulling is a bit of a PITA in my car because the exhaust is full welded so cant drop it. :(
 
who did your exhaust? fully welded is a half ass exhaust shop!! sorry but i had to say it, take it to an exhaust shop first, have them cut and flange the rear pipes, then drop the tank.
 
On the cheap I would weld it all. But yes here should have been a flange up front.
 
It was on the car when I got it guys. My plan was after all the million other things were done that I would have a Magnaflow center resonater installed and at that time have the shop make flanged connections.
