Hi, I've been reading this column for about 2 months now, and I feel lucky. I bought a 1995 Mark VIII from a dealer on Dec 21, 2010, because I had a 92 Cougar with about 175,000 miles on it,and I wanted a new car. The dealer wanted $3250 for it, and it advertised 94,000 miles and the suspension had been switched from air bags to springs. I checked it out and the interior looked new, and the exterior was in good shape. I was expecting problems but the test drive felt good. The salesperson told me the mechanic there wanted it if nobody bought it. The first thing I did was replace the tires. Then I had the fan belt replaced and the radiator flushed and tested. Then I took a trip, and in one week I put on 650 miles and didn't lose a drop of any fluids and it ran well the whole way. The only problems are minor, like the radio won't turn off, the rear view mirror won't switch, and the driver side rear view mirror has that dark color, but it's the whole thing, not half and half. The driver side door handle had to be replaced, but from what I've read on this column, that's quite common. Sorry if I bored you, but I'm glad to have a Lincoln Mark VIII now!
