Hi, I've been reading this column for about 2 months now, and I feel lucky. I bought a 1995 Mark VIII from a dealer on Dec 21, 2010, because I had a 92 Cougar with about 175,000 miles on it,and I wanted a new car. The dealer wanted $3250 for it, and it advertised 94,000 miles and the suspension had been switched from air bags to springs. I checked it out and the interior looked new, and the exterior was in good shape. I was expecting problems but the test drive felt good. The salesperson told me the mechanic there wanted it if nobody bought it. The first thing I did was replace the tires. Then I had the fan belt replaced and the radiator flushed and tested. Then I took a trip, and in one week I put on 650 miles and didn't lose a drop of any fluids and it ran well the whole way. The only problems are minor, like the radio won't turn off, the rear view mirror won't switch, and the driver side rear view mirror has that dark color, but it's the whole thing, not half and half. The driver side door handle had to be replaced, but from what I've read on this column, that's quite common. Sorry if I bored you, but I'm glad to have a Lincoln Mark VIII now!

This is it. It looked good to me!

Welcome, she looks good. I would turn that gut black from dirty work pants faster then you could blink! :D

All the chrome looked good. I like the chrome grill, and the strip around the sides all looked good. The trunk has the "Mark VIII" emblem, but not the "LSC" .
Did any Mark VIII's come with the chrome over each wheel fender, or is that custom?
I will need a new center wheel cover for the passenger side, since mine has to be corrected every so often. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Welcome to the site. Nice car. Please don't add wheel well chrome trim, looks like poopies.

As for the radio not turning off thats cause the car don't see the door opening up. Need to spray some WD-40 into the latching mech. Sometimes you have to go inside the door and coax the switch a little.
Mirror glass ain't hard to replace. Your heating fluid leaked and stained the mirror. Just find a new lens from the JY.
As for the mirror not moving, I dunno. Could be a bad switch, bad motor or its just unplugged.

Very nice looking Mark, looks and sounds like it's been well maintained.
Welcome to LVC, I'm another new guy who's learned a LOT just from listening to the Mark VIII Ascended Masters here talk. Usually funny as hell, too.

Wow kinda looks like my first Mark sept your interior is just about perfect  I had some of the same problems as you, mirror went dark and radio wouldn't shut off deals. Car still lasted me 90thousand miles till the trans finally wet the bed and I upgraded to a Gen2. Problem is my drivers seat is as bad as my first car cause I couldn't get one as nice as yours :(

I think he means that when he presses the button on the radio, it doesn't go off. If you hold the button in, it might be off but when you let go of the button, it comes right back on again. My stock one done the same thing. If I opened the door, the radio went off with no problem but it could not be turned off while driving, which meant the electric antenna came up every time I cranked the car. I don't like antennas and he probably doesn't either but you know what I done to mine. Stock stereo ain't there anymore and now my antenna never raises.

Welcome! Looks like a very clean car! What does the underside look like? As far as the LSC, yours is not because of the trim package. So you will have to find one in the junk yard or maybe the dealer can get one.

People like Diesel Dan have base gen 1 marks and he makes his look awesome. Love the wheels too, hard to find a nice set of chrome 20 spokes.
