Need new speakers?

I think they are out of them - all those sets they advertised are sold. Besides, for what I got them for, probably not worth shipping that big, heavy box back to Cali.

Just wondering if I can correct it in any way. That allen key bolt on the back - what does that do? Hold the magnet or what?

ive heard alot of bad things about audiobahn. my friend had 2 12's back in 00 that were nice and still run to this day. i bought 2 6x9 that were 200watt rms and 400max. i put the audiobahn amp that matched it directly to it and these two speakers put out more sound than i have heard in most vehicles with upgraded aftermarket speakers. my bro has a 2300 watt amp hes had for several years that powers his two 12" L7 and it still runs top. i think its just what you buy cause every car company makes some junk.

I put a nice Pioneer head unit and 4 Pioneer 6x8 3-ways... sounds decent enough for me...

Doesnt hold a candle to my Mach 460 system with a Pioneer head unit in my '94 GT though... that thing will rock out!! I miss driving it!

Oh, and I'll be putting an underdash 8 track player in my white coupe!

Post a couple pics so I can see the cack of the tweeter, the tweeter mount and the back of the entire speaker.
BTW, the allen bolt only holds on the beauty cover for the magnet.

Here we go, Laser:

Hmmm... I'm thinking I'll have to un-solder the tweeter wires to get that tube out, glue the tube back into place and re-solder the wires back to the tweeter. What do you think? Sound like a good plan? :)

Edit: Now that I look more, I don't think that plan would work, as the tweeter wires are kinda' trapped by the tweeter body, so even if I detached them, the whole assembly still won't come free.

Take off the woofers magnet beauty cover and you should have access to that tobe and be able to epoxy it from the rear. Juat make sure not to get any on the cones voice coil. Looka like it will be an easy fix

Let me try that right now... :D

Edit: FIXED!!! Cheers, Laser!

I removed the magnet cover and just needed to tighten a cross head screw that was underneath - that screw is what holds the tube in. All tight now... Thanks again!

MAKE SURE ITS CENTERED! Dont want the cones former to rub against it.

Yeah, I loosened and re-set a few times - seems the tube will only go in a particular position. No rubbing that I can see - there's space all around for the cone to move, so should be good.

Weird how that unit had a different tweeter, huh? I guess it was replaced as part of the refurb.

Good job mang. And thats the same tweeter just the butyle rubber surround isnt painted to match the tweeter cone like it is in the older ones. Should sound the same. The best place for that speaker (if there is a highs difference) would be to mount it in the drivers side rear. That way it wont hurt your sound stage if its within 3-6db. :)

Ah, ok, cool!

Yeah, I was gonna put my 'best' ones up front and the others in the rear, but like you said, shouldn't make much difference. I'll put it as driver's side rear, anyway.

HELL NOOOooooooooo!!!!

No candle in the wind!!!

Now, Paris to Berlin, on the other hand...

Hey chicken, do you know the secret to keeping a good woman? :D
