Man I am worse than my wife when it comes to her shopping. I can't stay away from Junkyards This wasn't in a car, they had this on a shelf in the back, and it caught the corner of my eye.

that is a crazy score!! honestly though do you guys really like the wood knobs? i think it looks ugly, they look fake and cheap, i prefer the black leather knob in a gen 2, i wouldnt put the wood knob in or the wood wheel if i was given them!!! i would sell them though lol.

It sure as hell looks like a mark viii knob. I have two of them (not wood) sitting next to me.

Ya. Looks Mark VIII to me. Especially the dark wood color. Most interiors used a lighter wood from Ford. Good steal!!

I'm more with the black leather knob with the chrome button but for $5.00, I would have bought it too and had it on ebay the same evening for sale. I love junk yards too but never get a chance to go like I would like to.

This is a Gen 1 style knob, and I believe only 98 CE's had wooden knobs. Gen 2's don't have an OD switch on the knob which means this is not from a Mark VIII.

where did you get this info, because every single 2nd gen mark ever built had overdrive in the knob, i have 8 different stock 97-98 mark knobs i can take pics of to show you!! its already been said, the tauras does have the same knob as the 2ng gen knob, but, unlike the 2nd gen knob which has a chrome button, the tauras button is black just like the knob, the tauras knobs dont have the overdrive button on them, gman's find is a C.E knob no need to keep arguing!

Eh, I'm an idiot, lol. I'm thinking of the the first gen swaps that people were using from other cars from either a Taurus or Mystique instead of the CE knob, and somehow that got stuck in my mind. That is probably why I shouldn't reply while surfing on my phone at the gun shop. That makes us even for the week
