Ok I completed the blend door install. Before I put the dash back together again, I turned on the hyacinth and watched the motor and arm move. Put the dash together and now the unit works....except now instead of freezing cold air blowing when I select heat, I have cool/ Luke warm heat. Could it be my thermostat? My temp gauge is always dead center o slightly lowerq. I haven't flushed my radiator. Yet and I know that coolant is very old. I have had to add coolant and water to the system before. So anybody with any suggestions as to what the problem could be? Also how many bottles of antifreeze does it take to refill the system if I do flush it?

Change the stat, burp it and report back.

Yeah, I wasnt asking to be a dick or anything. I just couldnt figure out what he was trying to spell other then "AC" and thats a lot of word for two letters.

Lol It was my auto correct on my cell. I meant htac which is short for heat and AC. Thanks guys I will try to flush and a new thermostat.

I suspect your heater core is partially clogged. Flushing the system could fix it, it could also worsen it. If the heater core is full of rust, you wont get heat either. When I did my dash swap on my 93, I did the heater core as well.

Eatc refers to that specific part if the system, hvac refers to the entire system

I meant hvac. I planned to flushed but its to cold to use my water hose. I might have to pay a shop to flush it.

As you get older and older, the tasking list gets smaller and smaller, amongst other things.:slam

as i get older my list and other things get bigger.. -shrug-

if the vehicle has been running water, and theres rust in the system, DO NOT use a chemical flush, just drain and add coolant

to flush the heater core, just disconnect the hoses from the pipes leading off the block, stick garden hose in either hose and flush it out, reconnect hoses.

what do you guys mean by burbing system? because im getting luke warm heat too.

how would I clean it out?

Go to your dealer or a good equipped shop and have them triple acid reverse flush it and it should take it out. You need professionals with the right chemicals to do it right. it will be cheaper in the long run. The alternative is heater core replacement. $50 part $800 labor.
