I have an idea. You know how tbird guys stuf mark 8 interior in the tbirds. Now this is mainly for guys that want black interiors. What if you swap some tbird interior parts ex. door panels rear seats maybe front seats. Maybe a bit cheaper. Just an idea that pooped in my head today.

What is so special about the gen 1 SHO seats? Just wondering. And are they bolt in?

Gen 1 sho seats are pretty damn nice. Full 6 way power. Power Lumbar and they have a power bolster on them too.

The SC seats aren't bad either, but damn near impossible to find in black leather.
They bolt in, but you have to rewire them.

What really got me thinking bout tbird interior is yesterday I was thinking bout if a lincoln contential dash cluster gauge working in a 98 mark. I could not find a decent pic of the dash.

this is all sounds stupid....The Tbird interior did not get nice until 1994....the 1993 and down interior is butt ugly....but even the 1994 and up Tbird interior, is still leaps and bounds behind the mark viii......that being said i own both cars, and wouldnt ever consider a swap like that...my buddy tried swapping a mark viii interior in his old tbird....but quickly learned there we all sorts of fitment issues, rear quarter panels, door panels....etc etc...

Steering wheels, and sunvisors... thats all I'd use from a T-Bird. Oh, and shifter handles.

i know what cluster your talking about but its not likelly that it will work. the only thing on that cluster it self is the needles all the gauges/numbers and everything else is projected down from above. if you ever get the chance reach in and touch the cluster you will see the shadow of your hand on the gauge face

Sounds fancy! Utterly pointless, but fancy nonetheless!

Heh... Wire the projector to a master switch so that when you get pulled by cops for speeding...

''couldn't help it, officer - my damn gauge cluster literally just went on the blink''

*shows officer*

*officer shows lenience and just issues a 'fix it' ticket*

I was avoiding clicking this thread all morning but its dead in here and my self respect dropped low enough to check this thread out............ wish I wouldnt have and instead looked for midget beasteality porn. :(

SC seats are pretty much the same as the inflatable side bolster SHO seats.. Whenever U Pull It gets a SC in I'll be grabbing those seats for my Mark.

people must be out of there minds or bore to death to even come out with ideas like this i have own 2 t birds 3 stangs and 1 mark eight and never wanted to change any of them is like cloning wtf people just my 0.2 cents thank you.

My mom's '97 30th anniversary Cougar has the T-Bird SC/Taurus SHO seats and they're pretty nice. But I like my Mark VIII seats better. They're much more comfortable. And the '97 LSC's side bolsters are much more robust than the '96's. Plus the T-Bird/Taurus seats don't have power recliners. I did have a '93 T-Bird LX with a 302 several years ago and it had one thing that I would love to put in my Mark...if it would fit (which it won't). It had the optional digital instrument cluster. It had a full set of six gauges including oil pressure and volts. That's one of the very few things I don't like about the Mark. It only has 4 gauges. I like to be able to monitor my engine's vital functions such as oil pressure. But as far as switching interiors? Nah. Not worth the effort.

Tell that to the folk swap sn95 wole interior to a fox body. Now what if some one swap a mark 8 interior into a mark 7. Sc seat are a bit mor sport aint they.

Do you ever stop and think before you type? Do you ever actually read what others write before you respond or ask an asinine question?

ive heard of people putting tbird rear seats in a mark so they could have folding rear seats. you run into support problems though. i believe we have a huge x brace all the way across the back seat on the trunk side. somethin like that lol

we put markviii seats into the thundermark project (95 dohc bird) the rear didnt fit quite right it was short one way and long the other (cant remember what way) either top too short and bottom overhung to far or the other way around. so id imagine that the mark would have similar issues with the rear seat

I'm beginning to wonder if perhaps lincolnboy isn't one of those poor guys that was an experimental test tube baby that may have been dropped a few times by hospital staff
