I give you a lot of credit for your sacrifice jamie. It's hard to let go of something you have an immense amount of pride in for your family. I did the same thing and settled for my Mark because it still had the heart of a Mustang (Cobra engine...I know, I know the engine was in the mark first but you get the drift :) )

It seems as if everyone at some point has that one car that got away....

Here was a vid of my long lost one in action and her pic below too...

Or taken away..............:(

Yeah I watched mine taken away on a tow truck :(

I chose my family and school over my car. My wife said I could have kept it but it meant working while in school solely to pay for the car as opposed to staying home with my son while finishing school. I chose my son over my car.

Btw, your Stang was sweet jr... your heart must have broke that day

well i'll fill you in on something, you guys see how many vehicles i have gone through recently, its not because i get bored with them, or get sick of driving them, ever since i sold my 98 i have tried to get it off my mind by buying other kinds of vehicles, well it didnt work. so the whole deal with buying the white 95 i sold terry, again, had no intention to sell it, i bought my grey 93, my wife fell in love with it, she knew from the day i sold my 98 i was devastated, she came to me and said sell my white one, give me the grey one, and take the money plus whatever i had saved and buy another blk on blk gen 2, this was all her idea, she just wanted me to be happy again, she said why buy these vehicles you dont really want, just buy what you know will make you happy, so thats exactly what i did, so thats the whole story start to finish, i did something for my wife and kids, and she basically did something back for me, so no more to explain.

Now that is a good wife, who trained her for you, I want their number right now!

Thanks, i loved it way too much. What made me cry was when the repo guy got sideways a block from my house.....intill that day i had never heard my car drive away without me in it.

That is one reason it is nice to pay cash for a car... no one can come take it away!

I know that now, all 3 of my cars are payed for but 3 years ago it was kinda hard to pull $14,500 out of my azz.....im not even going to go into how bad the dealership fu*ked me on my trade in.......

dude my wife is the best. i am a full blown :q:q:q:q:q:q:q no one can say different, not even her, but she loves me, and she knows i break my nuts for us to survive thats all i do is work, whether its at work, or my shop, thats all i do for us, she puts up with so much grief from me and never once told me she was leaving, she is very strong and she knows way down deep inside i am a good person, she has seen it and only a handful of other have to. she wants me to have this car, but i have to keep it after all the stress over the whole deal, because if i did get rid of it or something happens she will kick my ass all over this house, so not only am i getting it for myself, i am getting it for her too, she hopes it makes me lighten up and chill out a little and try to be happier. she deserves a night out with me for a nice dinner and more kid making, no wait, scratch that second part, if that happens again i'll have no penis anymore!!!

So very true. I watched a Mitsubishi Mirage lol I had get towed away but I had just bought new tires for it 2 days prior. I jacked it up, took the rims and tires off and told him it was his to take. I had it setting on rotors on the ground. He had to call for another truck to come drag it up on a flat bed. When it left, it was hanging half way off the back of the truck.

Finance company calls me a few months later and informs me that I still owe them over 6 thousand dollars??? I told her it would be a cold day in "her hell" before I pay one dollar on a car that I no longer have and on top of that, I already had paid nearly $1,300 over the purchase price of the car. She told me they sold the car at an auction for $324.00 and I asked her why was that my problem. I would have given them that for it and just kept it. Why would I let you take it and then pay you an additional 6 thousand for it when I don't even have it.

Anyway, after that conversation, she plainly asked me if I was going to pay and I plainly stated to her that if I did, I would be just as retarded as them for selling it for $324.00 so hell no, I'm not paying nothing on it. btw, I still have the rims and new tires that fit a Mitsubishi Mirage if anyone needs to buy them. Nothing wrong with them and have less than 75 miles on them.

Pay cash for a car when you buy and don't think you have to have what everyone else has or think you have to have a new car because you don't. When you get a little older, lets say into your later 30's and 40's, you'll understand it all better. No car payments FTMFW!

Just bought one from Jamie for 2G's and could go out and buy another right now but one is enough. Another good thing about not having payments on a car is the insurance payments. My insurance is $146 every 6 months and yes, it is liability but just like the 94, if this 95 gets wrecked or burns to the ground, I'll just go buy another one. How likely is it that a car burns to the ground? If you drive as much as I do, a wreck is almost out of the question. the insurance money savings allows me to buy another Mark if something were to happen.

This is why I don't mod these cars up no further than a stereo system. If it gets wrecked or burned, that stuff is gone. If my 94 would have been heavily modded in the engine, it would have melted plastic all over the top of it now and pretty much useless. Some of us have deep pockets and some of us don't. I don't but I'm not broke either. I just know when to stop buying. When you have a kid to support, your mind takes on a whole new level. If it come down to me selling my Mark to have a place to live, not only would I sell but if required, I would burn it to the ground too. A car is just a car. There is no shortage of them.

Jamie is getting a nice one for a good deal and I am happy to see it happen because he deserves it. He has worked hard and lost things that he didn't want to lose and has waited a long time for this day to come and tomorrow is the day. Actually, I think he's going to have a better car now than he did with the 98 he had. He will fix this car up, like he likes it and will not sell it. If he does put it up for sale, it will be for good reason and that means at least a 4 to 5 grand profit or he has a family issue arise that requires him to sell. I don't see him selling it for the profit really but it would have to be significant before he sold it for a profit.

Final word, I DARE SOMEONE TO COME TRY TO TAKE MY MARK AWAY, EVEN THE BURNT ONE. IT AIN'T HAPPENIN. Pay cash and be happy and proud!:D

Only had one repo and it broke my heart. It was back in 95 and I had a 91 Talon tsi that was just a little speed demon. When they came to repo it I said I am removing my stereo and custom wheels. The guy said no, if its in or on the car then its comming with and he was being a total dick about it. So I opened my gate and said "come here Lady" and my 120lb Rottweiller came out. I said Im removing them and then you can have the car with its stock stuff. If you try and stop me she will stop you.
He said "I am armed" at which point my room mate came out and said "So am I" and flashed his badge then asked for the guys gun permit. :D

They ended up doing the same thing to me too. A year latter I get a letter saying I owed them $9300 and that the car was sold at auction for $2200.
I told them they are dumb asses and I will never give them a dime! Book was $12000 and my payoff was only $8900 at the time. Fuggin banks. Ever since then though I pay all my bills early. :)
